Genshin Impact chests can be found all over the world. Opening a chest usually rewards the player with Primogems, Adventure XP, Character XP, Mora, Sigils, Mystic Ore, Weapons, and Artifacts.
Achievements are awarded for collecting all Chests in each region. Also, the Compass makes it easier to find treasures. The Compass is issued for reputation with cities, it works only in the region where it was obtained.
Chests are divided into several types according to their rarity: Common, Rare, Precious and Luxurious.
Common chests:
- Scattered throughout Teyvat and scenario dungeons.
- Being the most basic, they do not contain rich loot.
- Appears after completing the 1st time pass of the NPC Challenge.
- Common chests always contain 2 Primogems, 20 Adventure XP, 3 Sigils, Mora, and a random assortment of Weapons, Mystic Ores and Artifacts.
Rare chests:
- They are usually locked and require players to fight monsters, solve puzzles, or follow the Fairies into their gardens.
- Reward for completing Battle Challenges.
- Reward for completing Time Trial Challenge.
- Appears after completing the 2nd time NPC Challenge.
- Always contain 2 - 5 Primogems, 20-30 Adventure XP, 3-4 Sigils, Mora and a random assortment of Weapons, Mystic Ores and Artifacts.
Precious chests:
- It can be found in very well hidden places around the world.
- Reward for solving certain puzzles.
- A reward for completing certain Combat Challenges.
- A reward for completing certain World Quests.
- Appears after completing the 3rd time NPC Challenge.
- Always contain 10 Primogems, 30 Adventure XP, 4-10 Sigils, Mora and a random assortment of Weapons, Mystic Ores and Artifacts.
Luxurious chests:
- Found at Shrine of Depths.
- A reward for completing certain World Quests.
- Always contain 10-40 Primogems, 30 Adventure XP, 4-10 Sigils, Mora and a random assortment of Weapons, Mystic Ores and Artifacts.
