BO6 Camo Challenges: Multiplayer, Zombies & Warzone
Black Ops 6 has separate weapon-camo tracks for Multiplayer, Zombies and its Warzone integration. For most guns, each track starts with Military camos, then two weapon-specific Special camos, followed by four Mastery tiers. The challenges are tied to individual weapons and modes.
This BO6 camo challenges overview explains the progression order and highlights where objectives differ by weapon. The Warzone section describes the BO6-era track; current Warzone integration and camo availability can change with later Call of Duty releases.
What Are BO6 Camo Challenges?
BO6 camo challenges are progression-based objectives linked to specific weapons in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. They reward players with visually distinct weapon skins as they complete tasks based on eliminations, accuracy, use of equipment, or special enemy kills.
The three BO6 tracks have different base objectives:
- Multiplayer: headshots for most guns, with other objectives for some weapon types.
- Zombies: critical kills for most guns; launchers and melee weapons use eliminations instead.
- Warzone: eliminations with the BO6 weapon in the dedicated Warzone track.
Military camos are earned per weapon. Special camo challenges are weapon-specific, while an unlocked Special camo can be equipped on eligible weapons. Mastery camos are earned separately in each mode and for each weapon.
BO6 Zombies Camo Challenges
Zombies Military Camos
For most BO6 Zombies guns, the nine Military camos advance through critical kills. Launchers and melee weapons use eliminations rather than critical hits, so read the requirement on the weapon you are leveling. The common gun milestones are:
- Slate – 100 Critical Kills
- Desert – 200 Critical Kills
- Evergreen – 300 Critical Kills
- Rugged – 400 Critical Kills
- Grim – 600 Critical Kills
- Stripe – 800 Critical Kills
- Oceanic – 1,000 Critical Kills
- Whiteout – 1,500 Critical Kills
- Purple Tiger – 2,000 Critical Kills
These camos provide the foundation for unlocking further Special and Mastery challenges in the Zombies track.
Zombies Special Camos
Each BO6 Zombies weapon has two Special Camo challenges after its Military set. Requirements vary by weapon and may involve ammo mods, enemy types or upgraded gear. The table gives weapon-specific examples; confirm the exact task on the weapon's camo screen before starting.
Zombies Mastery Camos
After the Military and two Special challenges for a BO6 Zombies weapon, its Mastery path opens: Mystic Gold, Opal, Afterlife and Nebula. Each later tier also requires progress with other weapons before its individual challenge becomes available.
The table below summarizes the order. Only Afterlife and Nebula were described by Call of Duty as animated, and Nebula is dynamic.
For other Call of Duty activities, see Call of Duty Boosting Services. Check the camo menu for the task on your chosen weapon before starting a long run.
BO6 Multiplayer Camo Challenges
Military Camo Challenges (Universal)
For most BO6 Multiplayer guns, the nine Military camos use headshot milestones. Weapon types such as launchers and melee weapons have different base objectives; consult their camo screens. The common headshot sequence is:
- Granite – 5 Headshots
- Woodland – 10 Headshots
- Savanna – 15 Headshots
- Splinter – 20 Headshots
- Moss – 30 Headshots
- Shade – 40 Headshots
- Digital – 50 Headshots
- Tide – 75 Headshots
- Red Tiger – 100 Headshots
These early camos act as a warm-up grind and are required before Special or Mastery camos become available.
Special Camo Challenges
Every BO6 weapon has two Special Camo challenges in Multiplayer. Complete that weapon’s Military camos to unlock the tasks; the two Special challenges can then be finished in either order. The following table contains examples, so use the current camo screen for exact wording.
Mastery Camo Challenges
After Military and Special camos, the Multiplayer Mastery path is Gold, Diamond, Dark Spine and Dark Matter. Dark Spine is animated; Dark Matter is animated and dynamic.
BO6 camos remain tied to BO6 weapons; they do not transfer to Black Ops 7 weapons.
Warzone Camo Challenges BO6
Warzone Military Camos
The BO6-era Warzone track begins with nine Military camos based mainly on eliminations with the selected BO6 weapon. Its tasks were separate from BO6 Multiplayer and Zombies. Later Warzone integrations change which legacy camos can be equipped, so check the current Warzone camo menu before planning this track.

Warzone Special Camos
After its Warzone Military camos, each BO6 weapon has two Warzone Special challenges. These are weapon-specific Warzone tasks, not Zombies objectives such as Cryo Freeze or Pack-a-Punch. Complete both to open that weapon’s Gold Tiger challenge; use its camo screen for the exact objective.
Warzone Mastery Camos
The BO6-era Warzone Mastery order was Gold Tiger, King’s Ransom, Catalyst and Abyss. King’s Ransom and Catalyst are animated; Abyss is animated and dynamic.
Warzone camo progress applies to the BO6 weapon, not to all weapons in the loadout. Call of Duty has announced that legacy weapon camos will not be available in Warzone when the Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 carry-forward transition begins, even though legacy weapons remain.
Best Tips to Grind BO6 Camo Challenges
Track one BO6 weapon and mode at a time. Military objectives unlock the two Special challenges; Mastery tiers then add class-wide and across-class prerequisites.
Multiplayer Tips
- Use manageable sightlines and recoil control for headshot challenges on guns.
- Check the weapon’s Special objectives before choosing attachments or equipment.
- For Diamond and later tiers, check the required number of completed weapons in the camo menu.
Zombies Tips
- For gun Military camos, prioritize critical kills; launchers and melee weapons use eliminations.
- Match ammo mods and upgrades to the specific Special challenge shown on the weapon.
- When a Mastery challenge asks for Special or Elite enemies, use the exact enemy type named in-game.
Warzone Tips
- Check whether the BO6 weapon and its Warzone camo track are available in the current integration.
- Use the weapon named in the challenge for elimination progress.
- Check the individual Special and Mastery tasks instead of applying Zombies or Multiplayer requirements.
For players who want help with camo objectives, see the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Camos Boost page.
Conclusion
BO6 camo progression follows the same broad order in Multiplayer, Zombies and its Warzone track: Military, Special, then four Mastery tiers. The base objective and each weapon’s Special task change by mode. For Mastery, finish the prerequisite camos on the required number of weapons before attempting the next tier on your chosen gun.
Use the BO6 camo menu for exact per-weapon objectives and current Warzone availability, especially after later Call of Duty integrations.
