How to Unlock the Haranir in WoW: Allied Race Guide
The Haranir are the allied race of World of Warcraft: Midnight. To unlock them you need Midnight, then you finish Eversong Woods, play the Harandar campaign and hand in the quest The War Beyond the Roots in Silvermoon, which grants the achievement Allied Race: Haranir. The unlock counts for your whole account, and Haranir can join the Alliance or the Horde. This guide is up to date for Midnight Season 2 and patch 12.1.5.
| Expansion | Midnight |
|---|---|
| Campaign | Harandar, three chapters, zone achievement One Does Not Simply Walk Into Harandar |
| Final quest | The War Beyond the Roots, given by Elder Hagar in Silvermoon |
| Unlock achievement | Allied Race: Haranir |
| Faction | Alliance or Horde |
| Racial mount | Ivory Grimlynx |
| Heritage Armor | Heritage of the Haranir at level 50 |
How to unlock the Haranir step by step
- Start the Midnight story in Silvermoon and finish the Eversong Woods campaign.
- Open the scouting map in Silvermoon and choose Harandar as your next zone.
- Play the three chapters of the Harandar campaign: Of Caves and Cradles, Emergence and Call of the Goddess. This completes the zone achievement One Does Not Simply Walk Into Harandar.
- Go back to Silvermoon and talk to Elder Hagar next to the Harandar portal. Her quest The War Beyond the Roots sends you to Lor’themar in the Sanctum of Light.
- Hand it in to earn Allied Race: Haranir. You can now create Haranir on any character slot of your account.
The race stays locked if you stop after the zone achievement, and the last quest from Elder Hagar is easy to miss. Current walkthroughs list no Hara’ti Renown grind for the unlock, so the weekly Legends of the Haranir content is optional here.
Haranir classes
Haranir can play nine classes. Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Paladin and Evoker are not available to them.
| Class | Roles | Armor |

| Druid | Tank, healer, damage | Leather |
| Hunter | Damage | |
| Mage | Damage | Cloth |
| Monk | Tank, healer, damage | Leather |
| Priest | Healer, damage | Cloth |
| Rogue | Damage | Leather |
| Shaman | Healer, damage | |
| Warlock | Damage | Cloth |

Haranir racial abilities
The Haranir racials come from their life underground and their bond with the World Tree roots:
- Thorn Bloom grows thorns that hurt enemies or heal allies.
- Lash Out raises your critical strike damage and healing.
- One With Nature improves Herbalism and Finesse.
- Subterranean Predator gives extra experience and damage against Aberrations, Beasts and Elementals.
- Rootwalking teleports you to the Cradle and lets you travel through the roots of the World Trees.
Blizzard has not published the exact numbers of these racials, and they can change with class tuning, so check the tooltip in character creation.
Heritage Armor and mount
Bring a Haranir to level 50 to earn Heritage of the Haranir and its Heritage Armor set. Like the other allied races, a boosted character, a race change or a faction change counts as well. Only Haranir can wear the set. The racial mount, the Ivory Grimlynx, comes with the unlock achievement.
