Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III introduces 24 new Operators with 12 from SpecGru and 12 from KorTac, expanding the Operators roster to over 90 across Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Modern Warfare III.
To access all these new Operators, you'll need to complete their in-game challenges and meet other unlock requirements.
In Modern Warfare 3, there are a total of 92
Operators, including 67 returning ones from Modern Warfare 2 and 25 new ones.
Each of them has different unlock requirements, ranging from completing campaign missions to multiplayer and Zombies challenges. Here's how to unlock each of them, organized by faction for easy reference.
To view the list of
Operator challenges in-game, navigate to the top right menu and select the Challenges tile.
From there, choose the
Operator Challenge tile to see challenges for SpecGru, KorTac, including the 24 new from Modern Warfare III and some from Modern Warfare II that carry over.

- Blueprint: Unlocked with a copy of MW3
- Byline: Get 3 Hipfire Kills with SMGs in a single Multiplayer Match
- Ghost: Available with the MW3 Vault Edition
- Jabber: Complete the 'Danger Close' campaign mission in MW3
- Jet: Get 5 kills with Snipers in a single Multiplayer Match
- Pathfinder: Complete the 'Crash Site' campaign mission in MW3
- Price: Available with the MW3 Vault Edition
- Ripper: Get 100 kills in a single Zombies Match
- Riptide: Get 1 kill with a Cruise Missile in a single Multiplayer Match
- Rocket: Unlocked with a copy of MW3
- Scorch: Complete 3 Contracts in a single Zombies Match

- Alpine: Get 3 kills while crouching in a single Multiplayer Match
- Bantam: Perform 1 Finishing Move in a single Multiplayer Match
- Blaze: Unlocked with a copy of MW3
- Corso: Complete the 'Reactor' campaign missions in MW3
- Doc: Complete the 'Highrise' campaign mission in MW3
- Enigma: Get 3 kills while aiming down sights in a single Multiplayer Match
- Lockpick: Unlocked with a Digital Standard or Vault Edition preorder on PlayStation
- Makarov: Available with the MW3 Vault Edition
- Raptor: Get 5 kills with Frag Grenades in a single Multiplayer Match
- Swagger: Get 10 kills with LMGs in a single Multiplayer Match
- Thirst: Unlocked with a copy of MW3
- Warden: Available with the MW3 Vault Edition
- Warrior: Purchase the Endowment 'Warrior' Pack
MW 2 Operators
The SpecGru faction is packed with recognizable characters that Call of Duty fans will surely recall.
After their appearances in Modern Warfare 2’s Campaign, Price, Ghost, and Soap became part of the SpecGru faction as elite mercenaries.
Price, Ghost, Farah, and Soap were previously exclusive to the Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition.
However, Season 2 Reloaded introduced bundles for some of them, allowing Price, Ghost, and Farah to be obtained outside of the Vault Edition.
Price is also a prize for completing the second Raid.
