Released on June 16, Title Update 10 introduced the game's second 8-player raid, Operation Iron Horse. The True Sons have seized control of a foundry to create new weapons, threatening to reclaim their lost territory in Washington, DC, and dismantle everything The Division has built. During this raid, players must face not only the True Sons and their hidden secrets but also navigate the perilous environment of the foundry. Each boss features unique mechanics that test players' cooperation and operational efficiency in highly challenging scenarios.
Raid Details
Operation Iron Horse features two versions: one for Level 40 agents and another for Level 30 agents. The Level 40 version was available on June 30 at 6 PM CEST, while the Level 30 version became available on July 7. To initiate the raid, players need to speak with the helicopter pilot at the Base of Operations. This will open the raid tab on the social menu, allowing players to start forming their raid groups.
The raid's narrative follows the aftermath of the Black Friday outbreak, where civilians settled in the United Ironworks. The True Sons later captured this foundry, hiding from the public and plotting against The Division with an expanded arsenal. The Division has discovered their plans and is ready to counter this growing threat. The raid demonstrates the True Sons' determination and ruthlessness, challenging players to overcome both enemy forces and environmental hazards.
Raid Mechanics and Challenges
Operation Iron Horse requires players to handle unique boss mechanics, making teamwork and strategy crucial. The raid team consists of eight players divided into two sub-groups, each with four players. The raid leader, who creates the group from the social menu, is the only one who can begin the raid.
Rewardsand Loot
Operation Iron Horse offers exclusive loot for those who can navigate its challenges. Among the raid-specific rewards are two new exotic weapons and gear sets:
- The Ravenous: A double-barrel rifle that provides offensive and defensive bonuses.
- The Regulus: A revolver with high base damage, creating explosions on headshot kills that amplify damage and apply bleed to nearby enemies.
- Future Initiative Gear Set: Focused on healing, this set enhances team repairs and increases teammates' damage when they are at full armor.
- Foundry Bulwark Gear Set: Designed for tank roles, this set allows players to absorb and repair damage over time.
Additionally, players can earn new cosmetic items, commendations, and unique arm patches. The raid features a weekly reset timer, meaning boss loot can only drop once per week. However, players can continue participating in the raid after the weekly reset to help others or to enjoy the challenge.
Race to World First
Following the success of the Race to World First competition for Operation Dark Hours, Operation Iron Horse also features a race for the first team to complete the raid. This competition encourages squads to strive for efficient coordination and rapid completion to earn the title of "World’s First."
