Gold coins and pale crystals on an Ogri’la trading counter

TBC Anniversary Gold Farming Guide for the Zul’Aman Phase

Anniversary realms have been in the Zul’Aman phase since , and the steady gold at level 70 comes from daily quests, primals, gathering and crafting professions. The Sha’tari Skyguard, Ogri’la and Netherwing dailies are all live, while the Shattered Sun Offensive dailies arrive only with Sunwell Plateau, which has no date yet. Prices and demand differ from realm to realm, so check your own auction house before you put hours into one method.

Daily quests you can do now

Daily quests are the easiest gold to plan with, because each one pays gold and reputation and you can repeat them every day. Three Outland factions have daily quests on Anniversary realms right now.

FactionWhereLive since
Sha’tari SkyguardSkettis, Terokkar Forest
Ogri’laBlade’s Edge Mountains
NetherwingNetherwing Ledge, Shadowmoon Valley

Skyguard and Ogri’la came with Phase 2, and Netherwing came with Black Temple in Phase 3. You can only reach Netherwing Ledge by flying, so you need your flying mount first. The costs for flying are in our TBC Anniversary leveling guide.

On top of the faction dailies there is a daily Normal dungeon quest and a daily Heroic dungeon quest. They are worth taking whenever you run that dungeon anyway, although the exact gold reward on Anniversary realms hasn’t been confirmed.

The Shattered Sun Offensive and its dailies on the Isle of Quel’Danas are not in the game yet. They are planned for the Sunwell Plateau update, and Blizzard has not announced a date for it.

Primals and motes

Ten motes of one element combine into one primal, and many TBC recipes need primals. Mana is a good example: Mana Seekers and Mageslayers around Kirin’var Village in Netherstorm drop Motes of Mana, and ten of them make one Primal Mana. Herbalists can also get Motes of Mana from Netherbloom, and Engineers have a mote extractor as another way to collect them.

Primal Fire goes into many profession recipes, including the Primal Might transmute that alchemists make. There is no single confirmed best spot for it on Anniversary realms, so pick a camp where few other players farm.

Mining and herbalism

Adamantite needs skill 325 and Rich Adamantite needs 350. Khorium needs 375 and is rare, because it appears in place of a regular ore node. On the ground, Nagrand is a good loop for Adamantite. With a flying mount, Netherstorm is the usual route.

If you combine mining with herbalism, Netherstorm is a natural place to farm because Netherbloom can give you Motes of Mana on top of the herb itself.

Professions that make gold

Alchemy

Alchemists sell consumables such as flasks and potions to raiders, and their transmute cooldown makes something to sell as well. Transmutes worth selling include Primal Might and the Earthstorm and Skyfire Diamonds. The cooldown is 20 hours rather than one calendar day, so if you craft as soon as it is ready you get up to eight transmutes a week instead of seven.

Jewelcrafting

Jewelcrafters prospect ore into raw gems and cut them for other players. With Black Temple in Phase 3 epic gems came into the game, which gave cutters more to sell. Whether prospecting pays off depends on the price of ore against the gems on your realm.

Enchanting

Enchanters earn gold by enchanting gear for other players, by disenchanting items they don’t need into materials, and by selling oils. The profit depends on how much the materials cost and how many players ask for enchants on your realm.

Netherweave Cloth and Tailoring

Netherweave Cloth drops from humanoid enemies in Outland, so many farms bring some in. The cloth and the Netherweave bags that tailors make from it are everyday goods on the auction house. Cloth has no single best spot either, so collect it while you farm something else.

Dungeon farming

Dungeons give you loot to sell, materials and reputation in one run. Since all Heroics are at their final, reduced difficulty, and you can buy a Heroic key at Honored, so more characters can farm them than before. The Heroic daily quest adds its reward on top. Lockouts and solo routes on Anniversary realms haven’t been confirmed in detail, so try a route on your own character before you count on it.

What the Zul’Aman update changed for gold

Primal Nether and Nether Vortex are no longer soulbound, so you can trade them. G’eras in Shattrath now also sells Nether Vortex for Badges of Justice, so badges you have no use for can become something you can trade. Loot from the world bosses Doomlord Kazzak and Doomwalker is now Bind on Equip, so a drop you don’t need can be sold or sent to another character. Which raids and dungeons drop badges is in our TBC Anniversary dungeons and raids guide.

If you need gold for flying or epic gems and don’t have the time to farm it, you can also buy TBC Anniversary gold from us.
