TBC Anniversary Dungeons and Raids Guide: What Is Open Now

Anniversary realms have been in the Zul’Aman phase since . Fifteen of the 16 TBC dungeons are open on Normal and Heroic, and eight raids are open, from Karazhan to Zul’Aman. The latest update removed the attunements for Black Temple and Hyjal and lowered Heroic keys to Honored. It also put Badges of Justice on far more bosses than before. Sunwell Plateau and Magisters’ Terrace come last, and Blizzard has not announced a date for them yet.

All TBC dungeons and their levels

The levels are the recommended range for Normal mode, which is not the minimum level to enter. Every Heroic dungeon is made for level 70. If you are still leveling, our TBC Anniversary leveling guide shows which zones go with these dungeons.

Groups are built by hand through the LFG tool. There is no automatic queue that teleports you in, so the group meets at the entrance.

Heroic keys and reputation

Each dungeon hub has one Heroic key, sold by its faction. Since the key needs Honored reputation instead of the older, higher requirement, and all Heroics now run at their final, reduced difficulty.

Reputation is earned by each character on its own, so an alt has to reach Honored too. Mana-Tombs is the odd one out: its Normal runs give Consortium reputation, although its Heroic opens with the Auchenai Key from Lower City. If your group can’t find a tank or a healer for a Heroic, we also run TBC Anniversary dungeons for you.

Door keys for Normal dungeons

Four dungeons are locked by a door key, which is separate from the Heroic keys above. The Shadow Labyrinth Key comes from a chest in Sethekk Halls. The Arcatraz key comes from a quest chain with fragments from The Botanica and The Mechanar. The Black Morass opens after the Old Hillsbrad Foothills quest chain, and The Shattered Halls has a key chain of its own. Removing the raid attunements did not remove these doors.

Raids by phase

Eight raids are open on Anniversary realms. Karazhan and Zul’Aman are 10-player raids, and all the others take 25 players.

The first three are the T4 raids of Phase 1, Serpentshrine Cavern and The Eye came with Phase 2, Black Temple and Hyjal with Phase 3, and Zul’Aman is Phase 4. The dates are the US opening day. In Europe the T4 raids opened at midnight on February 20, Black Temple and Hyjal at midnight on August 28, and Zul’Aman at midnight on October 23. Zul’Aman has a three-day lockout, so a group can clear it more than once a week.

If your guild has no spot for you, or you just want the loot without the weekly schedule, you can book a TBC Anniversary raid run with us.

How many bosses does Karazhan have?

The usual count is 11 encounters, and it includes the Chess Event and Nightbane: Attumen the Huntsman, Moroes, Maiden of Virtue, the Opera Event, The Curator, Terestian Illhoof, Shade of Aran, Netherspite, the Chess Event, Prince Malchezaar and Nightbane. Some lists also count the rare encounter in the Servant’s Quarters, or each Opera boss on its own, which is why you will see other numbers.

Raid attunements today

Black Temple and the Battle for Mount Hyjal needed an attunement when they opened, and Blizzard removed both requirements on . Zul’Aman never had one, and Gruul’s Lair and Magtheridon’s Lair have no raid attunement either. For Karazhan, Serpentshrine Cavern and The Eye, community guides report that the older attunements were dropped when Phase 3 began. Any attunement you did finish counts for every character on your account.

Badges of Justice

Badges of Justice buy gear and crafting materials from G’eras in Shattrath. Heroic dungeon bosses are the classic source. Since every boss in Karazhan, Gruul’s Lair, Magtheridon’s Lair, Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep and Zul’Aman drops them too, and so do the world bosses Doomlord Kazzak and Doomwalker. Black Temple and Hyjal are not on that list. G’eras also got new items with the same update, including Nether Vortex, which is no longer soulbound. What that means for your gold is in our TBC Anniversary gold farming guide.

What comes next: Sunwell Plateau

The last TBC update brings Sunwell Plateau, a 25-player raid with six bosses, together with the Magisters’ Terrace dungeon and the Isle of Quel’Danas with its Shattered Sun Offensive dailies. Community roadmaps place it in the autumn, but Blizzard has not announced a date. Until then Black Temple and Hyjal are the end of raid progression, and the TBC Anniversary phase overview covers the rest of the current phase.
