You will face many challenges upon arrival at Aeternum. You will evaluate your
surroundings, gather resources, and start crafting tools to ensure your survival. Trade and crafting skills in New
World can be powerful tools that allow you to make significant progress. You will be able to craft, refine,
and trade
many powerful items as you learn more about craft and trade. In the Character Progress article, we covered how
gathering and refining levels affect crafting outcomes.
We also briefly discussed how consumables work in our
Itemsization Blog. These are worth reading before you dive into the crafting system. High-skilled craftsmen can create
items as powerful, if not more so, than the Aeternum items. Battles won't be won by the item crafted or dropped from
powerful creatures. They will be won by the skill and thought of the players, and their Attributes and Mastery
builds. New World offers many opportunities for you to fulfill your role. You can make a difference
in Aeternum by
exploring dangerous and remote places to find resources or mastering the forge to create incredible weapons that alter
the course of the war.
Jewelcrafting - Crafting Trade Skill
Jewelcrafting refers to the craft of crafting Trinkets using materials and
resources from the Gathering and Refining lines. Trinkets made up of rings, earrings, and amulets, provide a bonus for
a player's attributes. The type of bonus that a Trinket provides is determined by the precious metals used to create
it, such as silver or embedded gems. Higher levels in Jewelcrafting allow players to create more powerful trinkets and
increase their Gear Score.
An Outfitting Station can be found in Settlements and is used for jewel crafting. Outfitting stations have a Tier
level that can be raised by participating in Town Projects. Each Trinket requires a certain tier
level to be craft.
This tier level corresponds with the Outfitting Station's Tier Level. If the Outfitting Station level of your
settlement is not sufficient, you can either raise it or locate another settlement with an Outfitting Station at a
higher Tier. To craft weapons, the player must also be at the appropriate level in Jewelcrafting. It
is easy to level
up in Jewelcrafting. To increase their skill level, players need to craft trinkets. However, collecting resources can
be more complicated and more time-consuming.
There is a small chance that a trinket will be Crafted with one or more Perks. These outcomes can be random, but
there are special materials you can find that, when used in crafting, can determine what Perk is added. There are no
guarantees that Perks will be added to equipment, but they increase with Crafting skills.
In-game UI's middle panel displays the materials required to create the item. Trinkets, and the Jewelcrafting Skill,
are made up of a Cut Gemstone and a Trinket Gem Setting. A Precious Metal Ingot is
also included. You can also choose
to have a Trinket Band for Rings, Trinket Bands for Amulets, or a Trinket Hook For Earrings.
Trinket Components are possible to be made at the same Outfitting Station. The recipes can be found under
Crafting
Components
in the recipe panel. Trinket Components can be made with the Precious Metals Silver Ingot or Gold Ingot as
well as the Platinum Ingot Orichalcum Ingot and Asmodeum Ingot. The Trinket will have a higher Gear Score if it uses
components from higher-tier metals. You can make Trinkets from a variety of Gemstones. Each type of
Gemstone gives a
unique defensive Perk to the resulting Trinket. These Gemstones are not replaceable or can be removed from Trinkets,
unlike Armor and Weapons. Each Gemstone has a specific Quality. These are Flawed (Regular), Brilliant, Brilliant, and
Pristine. The quality of a Gemstone determines its Perk potency and corresponds to its Tier level. A Trinket of a
similar Tier will be made if you use a Gemstone of a higher Tier. Gemstones can only be obtained via the Mining Skill.
They must be cut using Stonecutting Skill to be used in Jewelcrafting. Both skills are valuable as companion skills.
It is important to remember that crafting items will draw from both your Inventory and any Storage Sheds within the
Settlement. If you already have a storage shed, you don't need to clutter up your Inventory. Storage Sheds cannot be
shared between Settlements. You cannot use items stored in Windsward for crafting purposes. You can transfer items
from one storage shed to another via the storage menu.
The crafting of crafted Trinkets gives you the chance to get one or more Perks, along with the defensive Perks that
are granted by the Gemstones. These Perks can be obtained at random. To predetermine which Perks you will get, special
resources such as Chunk of Sparkmetal may be used during crafting. This does not guarantee that the Perk will be
added. Azoth, unlike Weapons and Armor,
can not be used to increase your chances of gaining Perks. Although Trinkets
have a higher chance of gaining Perks than Weapons or Armor, the odds are not always guaranteed.
