CoD: Black Ops 6 - Campaign Walkthrough
The Black Ops 6 campaign is a single-player spy story set in the early 1990s. Its main route contains 11 missions, with returns to The Rook safehouse between some missions. The Rook is where you can inspect the Evidence Board, prepare for the next operation and spend campaign cash on upgrades.
This walkthrough puts the missions in order and points out optional safes, which are easy to miss while following the main objective. The campaign has a linear ending; stealth and exploration affect how you play a mission, not which ending you receive.
Mission Walkthroughs
Follow the main missions below in order. The Rook appears between missions as a safehouse interlude, not a separate main mission. Check the Evidence Board there before deploying. A safe is optional: you can finish the story without opening it, but its cash can help fund safehouse upgrades.
| Mission | Focus | Optional safe / route note |
|---|---|---|
| Bishop Takes Rook | Opening mission | No mission safe; follow the extraction objective. |
| Blood Feud | Restaurant infiltration | Safe in the restaurant office; tune the nearby radio. |
| Most Wanted | Political-event infiltration | Safe behind the banquet area curtains; watch restricted zones. |
| Hunting Season | Open desert operation | Optional Village objective has a safe upstairs in the central building. |
| The Cradle | Palace assault | Check the second floor of the left gatehouse before the main palace. |
| Emergence | Research facility | Search the Cognitive Research locker room for the safe and radio. |
| High Rollers | Casino heist | While playing Sev, find the safe beside the elevator before the armory. |
| Ground Control | Airport assault | At Departures, find the radio at Information and the safe in the adjacent office. |
| Under the Radar | Base infiltration | The two-story radio building has a safe behind a locked door upstairs. |
| Separation Anxiety | Late-story mission | No optional mission safe listed. |
| Checkmate | Final mission | No optional mission safe listed. |
How to Open Mission Safes
In the eight missions with field safes, a radio near each safe gives the combination. Follow the signal-strength prompt, tune the radio by matching the waveforms, listen to the spoken numbers and enter them on the safe. The Rook safe is a separate ninth puzzle: explore the safehouse, complete its piano and boiler steps, then follow the bunker clues for its code. Codes are obtained in play; this guide does not invent a universal combination.
Campaign Rewards
Completing missions and improving The Rook unlocks cosmetic rewards usable in Multiplayer and Zombies, alongside XP Tokens and campaign challenges. The official reward examples include the Onyx Echo sniper blueprint, Heist Operator and Tank charm. Check the Campaign screen for the reward attached to your next mission; achievements and optional challenges are separate from ordinary mission-completion rewards.

How the BO6 Campaign Works
- Single-player story: The campaign is selected from the Single Player menu. It does not offer a co-op campaign mode or alternate story endings.
- Mission variety: Some operations allow a stealthier route or optional objectives; others focus on direct combat. Hunting Season is wider and more open than the linear airport assault in Ground Control.
- The Rook: Return to the safehouse between operations to inspect the Evidence Board, find story clues and buy upgrades with cash gathered in missions.
- Difficulty: Choose a campaign difficulty at the start and change it later if needed. The official Campaign screen displays mission-completion rewards.

Tips for Completing the BO6 Campaign
- Read the next briefing: Use The Rook’s Evidence Board before a mission to understand its goal and prepare your approach.
- Search before leaving: If a mission has a safe, find its radio before advancing past the area. The signal-strength prompt grows as you approach it.
- Spend cash deliberately: Mission safes and other cash pickups fund upgrades at The Rook. Check the upgrade options between operations.
- Adapt to the mission: In a wide operation such as Hunting Season, check optional areas before heading to the main objective. In tighter missions, use cover and watch the objective marker.
- Check rewards separately: Mission completion, campaign challenges and safehouse upgrades can unlock different items. Use the Campaign screen to see what remains.
For the safe in Most Wanted, follow the rear banquet route through the curtains; in Emergence, search the locker room off Cognitive Research. These are optional detours, so return to the main objective after opening the safe.
Conclusion
Black Ops 6’s story follows 11 main missions and returns to The Rook between operations. Read the next briefing, look for a radio when a mission has an optional safe, and use the cash for safehouse upgrades. The campaign is single-player with a linear ending, while individual missions still leave room to choose your route and search for extras. For other Call of Duty options, see CoD Boost!
