In Black Ops 6, Classic Prestige is optional after you complete Level 55. Choosing it sends your player level back to Level 1 and relocks most level-based items, while keeping weapon progress, camos, challenges, and content you permanently unlocked. What is Prestige in Black Ops 6?
Earn XP in Multiplayer or Zombies to complete the 55 player levels. When you finish Level 55, you can enter Prestige through Barracks > Progression > Prestige. If you own a Blueprint or Skin for an item, that item also remains permanently available through Prestige. This exception matters when deciding which item deserves your Permanent Unlock.
Prestige rewards and the Master climb
Entering Prestige 1 grants its icon, the “Nacht Raider” Weaver Operator Skin, access to its Multiplayer and Zombies Calling Card challenge sets, and a Permanent Unlock. Its later level milestones add items such as a loading screen, emblem, charm, and blueprint. Some rewards require owning BO6, even though the progression system also spans Warzone.
The ten Prestiges are themed around earlier Black Ops games. Each Prestige has its own rewards, so check the Prestige Hub for the stage you are working on rather than assuming every stage awards the same item.

Multiplayer match performance, objective play, medals, and challenges all contribute XP, while Zombies is another route through the same career progression. Use earned XP tokens when you have time to play. Prestige changes the level unlock track; it does not erase your weapon and challenge progress.
If you are planning a reset, check which gear you want available immediately. A Permanent Unlock can remove one high-level item from your future re-unlock list. Saved weapon builds return when their weapon becomes available again.
