MoP Classic Phase 5: Siege of Orgrimmar and What Is Live Now
Mists of Pandaria Classic is in Phase 5, the Siege of Orgrimmar update. It went live in North America on and in Europe a day later, and the Siege of Orgrimmar raid opened worldwide on , which was midnight on June 5 in central Europe. Besides the raid, the update brought the Timeless Isle, five new world bosses and the last chapter of the legendary cloak. PvP Season 14 started with it, and so did new seasons for Challenge Modes and Celestial Dungeons. Blizzard has not announced a next phase or an end date for MoP Classic, so this is the content to plan around.
Siege of Orgrimmar, the Tier 16 raid
Siege of Orgrimmar is the Tier 16 raid for level 90 characters. It has 14 bosses on Normal and Heroic difficulty. Loot starts at item level 553 on Normal and 566 on Heroic, and Warforged versions of the same items drop at 559 and 572. MoP Classic has no Raid Finder and no Flexible difficulty, so a raid group picks between those two. The gear that Raid Finder handed out in the original expansion comes from Celestial Dungeons in Classic.
Timeless Isle and Emperor Shaohao
The Timeless Isle is a new zone full of treasures, rare monsters and events. What you collect there pays out mostly in Timeless Coins, which you spend on vanity items, battle pets and mounts. The coins are a currency of their own and have nothing to do with your gold. Some pets from the isle can be caged and traded, for example the Ominous Flame. The update also added a new reputation with Emperor Shaohao.
New world bosses in Phase 5
Phase 5 added five world bosses. Four of them are the Celestials Chi-Ji, Yu’lon, Niuzao and Xuen, and the fifth is Ordos, Fire-God of the Yaungol, who waits on the Timeless Isle. You can only reach Ordos once you own the legendary cloak. The world bosses of earlier phases, such as the Sha of Anger, Galleon, Oondasta and Nalak, are covered in our MoP Classic dungeons and raids guide together with the item levels of every raid.
The legendary cloak finale
Wrathion’s legendary cloak chain reached its final chapter with this update. If you are behind on the earlier chapters, Celestial Dungeons can move the chain forward as an alternative to raiding, which helps when you don’t have a fixed raid team. Blizzard’s overview links the cloak with the fight against Garrosh but doesn’t list the last quests one by one, so follow Wrathion’s quest log for the exact order.
Celestial Dungeons and Challenge Mode Season 3
Celestial Dungeon Season 3 and Challenge Mode Season 3 both started with Phase 5. Celestial Dungeons give the gear that Raid Finder gave in the original game, and rewards from older tiers stay available there when a new tier opens. A player who comes back now can catch up on several tiers through them without a raid group.
Challenge Modes are timed runs for five players, and your gear is scaled to the same level for everyone. Bronze, Silver and Gold medals got Platinum on top in The Thunder King, and Phase 5 put Diamond above Platinum. Every season has its own rewards. Season 1 gave The Mistwalker and the Reins of the Celestial Tiger, and Season 2 gave Mistborne and the Reins of the Black Kor’kron Proto-drake. For Season 3, Blizzard’s Phase 5 announcement names Heir to the Mist and leaves the other rewards for later. If your group can’t make the timer, you can also book a MoP Classic Challenge Mode run with us.
Proving Grounds
Proving Grounds are solo challenges at level 90 where you test yourself in your role, with Bronze, Silver, Gold and Endless versions. They are new in Phase 5 and are a calm place to practice before you queue as a tank or healer for Heroics.
PvP Season 14
PvP Season 14 began with the regional maintenance of the update and brings Grievous Gladiator gear. Gladiator achievements are earned separately for each arena bracket. Since Landfall there is also Undisputed Gladiator for the top seasonal result in all three brackets. Blizzard’s Phase 5 announcement gives no rating cut-offs for these titles.

Throne of Thunder followed on December 11, 2025, and Siege of Orgrimmar on June 4, 2026. What to do first at level 90
You just reached 90
Start with the nine Heroic dungeons. Their loot is item level 463, and the last boss can drop a 476 epic. After that, Celestial Dungeons give you Raid Finder level gear from the current and older tiers, and the cloak chain moves forward at the same time. From there, Normal Siege of Orgrimmar is the next step. If you are a tank or a healer, a few rounds in the Proving Grounds before your first Heroic queue will save you some wipes. The Timeless Isle fits into any free evening, because you can hunt its treasures and coins on your own. If you would rather skip some of the grind, you can book a MoP Classic raid run with us.
You already raid
Heroic Siege of Orgrimmar and its Warforged drops are the top of PvE gear right now. Finish the legendary cloak if you haven’t, since that is the only way to fight Ordos. Challenge Mode Season 3 is the place for a Diamond medal and the seasonal reward, and PvP players have Season 14 and the Grievous Gladiator set. Alts still on the way up can use our MoP Classic leveling guide for the route from 85 to 90.
What comes after Siege of Orgrimmar?
Blizzard has not announced a next phase or an end date for MoP Classic, and there is no date for PvP Season 15 either. Any date for a following Classic expansion that you see online is a guess until Blizzard posts it.
