Bountiful Delves – Where the Gear Comes From
Bountiful Delves are the version that pays off for gear. Each one ends with a Bountiful Coffer that opens with a Restored Coffer Key. Keys come from Coffer Key Shards: 100 shards make one key, and you can earn up to 600 shards a week, so spend keys on Tier 8 or higher.
Season 2 rewards from Tier 8 up:
- 🔹 Bountiful Coffer: Champion gear at ilvl 295 (2/6).
- 🔹 Trovehunter's Bounty: Hero gear at ilvl 305 (1/6).
- 🔹 Great Vault: Hero gear at ilvl 305 (1/6).
- 🔹 Tier 11 at Delver's Journey rank 4: Gilded Stashes with Hero and Myth Mistcrests.
- 🔹 Tier 11 at rank 9: a chance at Hero gear or Untainted Mana-Crystals in Bountiful Coffers.
The weekly Vault: the World row opens options at 2, 4 and 8 qualifying activities. Eight Bountiful Delves at Tier 8 or higher open all three World options at Hero 305, and after the reset you pick one reward from your whole Vault.
Tier 8 or Tier 11 – Which One to Run
Standard advice says "push the highest tier you can". In Season 2 the base loot is the same on Tier 8 and Tier 11: 295 from the coffer and 305 in the Vault. Tier 11 pays off once your Delver's Journey reaches rank 4, because Tier 11 then opens Gilded Stashes with Hero and Myth Mistcrests, and from rank 9 its coffers can drop extra Hero gear.
Before rank 4, clean Tier 8 runs fill the Vault faster and fail less often. After that, our boosters mix in Tier 11 runs for the crests. Blizzard has also announced that Tier 11 Bountiful Delves become one source of Ascendant Venomstones from the week of 20 October in the US and 21 October in the EU.
Valeera Setup Matters More Than Most Players Realize
Delves are balanced around having Valeera Sanguinar as your companion. She's not a bonus – she's a design assumption. The mode's difficulty at Tier 8+ expects her support, and going in with wrong Curio setup or mismatched role is like entering M+ with wrong talents.
What we've found running Delves daily across hundreds of accounts: most classes perform best with Valeera on Healer role at Tier 8+ because the death limit is what actually gates your rewards. Losing Bountiful Coffer access because you ran out of revives at 80% boss health is worse than a slightly slower clear with safer healing. Tank-spec Valeera sounds appealing for DPS classes but her threat generation is inconsistent on multi-pack pulls – she works well on boss fights but creates problems in trash-heavy Delves like Atal'Aman and The Grudge Pit.
Curio selection also shifts per Delve. Some layouts have tight corridors where AoE Curios shine, others have spread packs where single-target burst matters.
