Ride your dragon! Review us on Trustpilot.
Onyxian Drake is one of the rarest dragon mounts in World of Warcraft, dropping from Onyxia in Onyxia's Lair with an extremely low 1-2% drop chance. This sleek black drake has maintained its prestige since Wrath of the Lich King despite being over 14 years old.
How to get Onyxian Drake in WoW?
To obtain the Onyxian Drake, you must defeat Onyxia in her lair located in Dustwallow Marsh (coordinates 56, 71). The mount drops on both Normal and Heroic difficulties and in both 10 and 25-player versions of the raid. Unlike in the past, no attunement quest chain is required to enter the raid. The mount has an extremely low drop rate of approximately 1-2%, meaning most players will need to complete dozens or even hundreds of runs. Alternatively, the mount can occasionally be found on the Black Market Auction House for those who prefer to acquire it with gold rather than time.
Key Features:
- No Attunement Needed: Originally required quest chain now removed
- Solo Friendly: Easily farmable by max-level characters
- Quick Runs: Small raid with minimal trash (5-7 minute clears)
- Timeless Design: Classic black dragon model never updated
