Essential Information About Skyriding in The War Within

In The War Within, players can choose between two flying: Steady Flight, which offers a chill, classic flying experience like in older expansions, and Skyriding, which is more active and lets you interact more with the surroundings.

Skyriding lets you move faster 83% speed in the Dragon Isles and 75% elsewhere, keeping travel exciting and varied depending on the area. Therefore, it may be a more appealing flying option.

Unlike previous systems where you had to collect items to improve, Skyriding skills improve automatically as you level up, making it easy to start flying as soon as you enter the new zone, Khaz Algar.

And a big update now lets most of your favorite flying mounts use the new Skyriding, so you can fly around in your mounts.

Unlocking Skyriding and Steady Fligh

The moment you set foot in Khaz Algar, you’re good to go with Skyriding. Get a feel for the dynamic flight mechanics from the get-go. If you’ve unlocked Sky Riding on one character, it will be available on all your characters.

Keep an eye out for these Glyphs while exploring. They’re your ticket to boosting your skills through the Skyriding Talent Tree, spicing up your flying skills.

To unlock Steady Flight, delve into the expansive new zones of The War Within. Steady Flight becomes available automatically at level 20 with Expert Riding.The speed of Steady Flight increases with Master Riding, unlocked at level 30. To use Steady Flight in the new zones, players must reach level 80, explore these zones, and complete the War Within story campaign.

How to Use Your Mounts for Skyriding

1. Open your mount collection by pressing Shift-P.
2. Pick a mount that’s ready for Skyriding. You’ll see a special Skyriding icon next to its profile.
3. Toggle between dynamic Skyriding and chill Steady Flight as you like.

Exploring Skyriding Glyphs

Transitioning from the earlier Dragonriding glyphs, Skyriding glyphs in The War Within are integral to mastering the skies. Players can now embark on quests to collect 38 unique glyphs scattered across the diverse landscapes of Khaz Alghar, with each zone offering unique challenges and rewards. Each glyph collected empowers the player's Skyriding abilities, contributing to a richly rewarding Talent Tree that enhances speed, agility, and the thrill of flight.

Also Glyph Hunter Achievements turn exploring new zones into a fun competition. Each area tests your flying skills and hooks you deeper into the story of The War Within.

The introduction of Skyriding glyphs adds a strategic layer to the game, where players must decide which glyphs to pursue based on their preferred style of gameplay and the specific benefits each glyph offers.

Skyriding Talent Tree in The War Within

The Skyriding Talent Tree in The War Within has been revamped, cutting down the number of talents from 20 to just 11. This change makes it easier to get the hang of and less daunting for players, speeding up the learning process and making the gameplay feel more natural.

Removed Talents: Some old talents from the Dragonriding days have been cut or merged right into the basic abilities to make controlling your character smoother and simpler. Here are the talents that were removed:

Powerful Upgrades: The talents that are left have been juiced up to give you bigger boosts in speed, agility, or usefulness. Each talent now makes a clear difference, enhancing your flying skills in noticeable ways.

How to check if your mount can Skyride:

• In-Game Mount Tab: A new filter in your mount collection lets you quickly see which mounts are set for Skyriding.
• Skyriding Icon: Keep an eye out for the Skyriding symbol next to your mount’s name in the tab, showing it’s good to go.

Skyriding Mechanics for Druid Flight Form

Druids, get ready to take flight in The War Within with your Travel Form now geared up for Skyriding! This update injects a fresh thrill into Druid gameplay, letting you glide through the skies using the new dynamic flight system from the expansion.

• Easy Skyriding Switch: Once you've unlocked Skyriding, your Druid's Travel Form will automatically switch to Skyriding mode in areas where flying is allowed. This means you can zip through the skies just like any Skyriding mount.
• Revamped Flight Dynamics: Druid Flight Form now taps into Skyriding's slick movement and momentum mechanics, offering a deeper, more engaging flying experience.
