The Echo of Uber Diablo reaches for the blue Annihilus seal on a desolate World Boss arena

How to Get Annihilus in Diablo 4 Season 15

is back. In Diablo II it was the charm everyone chased. In Diablo 4 it's a Unique Horadric Seal, and it still drops from Diablo. Since September 30, players keep meeting him in the open world right after a World Boss dies.

Here's where to stand, what to watch for, how to spot the drop and what to do with the seal once it's in your bag. We also keep facts and theories apart, so you don't waste a good Stone of Jordan on a rumor.

Hover over or tap an item name to see its tooltip. The cards show value ranges from the game data, so your own roll can differ.

Annihilus at a glance

  • What it is: a Unique Horadric Seal for the middle of your Talisman, with 6 Charm Slots.
  • Where it drops: from the Echo of Uber Diablo, who can show up right after a World Boss dies.
  • Is the spawn guaranteed? No. Plenty of World Boss kills end without him.
  • Can you trade it? Yes, until you reroll it in the Horadric Cube. After that it's Account Bound.
  • What you need to wear it: level 70 and the Lord of Hatred expansion, because the Talisman belongs to it.

What is Annihilus and why do you want it?

In Diablo II it was a small charm. In Diablo 4 it's a Seal: the piece in the center of your Talisman that decides how many Charms you can slot. Don't mix it up with the Hellfire Torch. The Torch is a Mythic Charm from the Echo of Tristram secret. is a Seal from a different fight, and you can use both in the same Talisman.

Every Annihilus rolls the same four stats, plus two extras:

Stat Range
All Skills+5 to 10
All Stats+10% to 20%
Bonus Experience+5% to 10%
Resistance to All Elements+10% to 20%
Two Seal PowersEach carries the name of a class set. Which two you get depends on the copy.

The big one is All Skills: up to +10 on a single item. Stats, resistances and XP come on top. Every seal players have shown so far has 900 Item Power and needs level 70. It is Unique Equipped, so you can wear only one.

How to get Annihilus, step by step

  1. Follow the World Boss timer. A World Boss appears about every three and a half hours. Your map shows the arena and a countdown before the spawn, and any World Boss timer site tells you the next one in advance.
  2. Be in the arena early and help with the kill. Nobody knows yet whether the boss matters, so go to whichever one is up.
  3. Stay after the boss dies. This is the step people miss. Don't teleport out, don't run to the next activity. Grab your loot and wait.
  4. Watch for the message "Diablo walks the Earth". A few seconds later the Echo of Uber Diablo, The Dark Lord appears in the same arena.
  5. Kill him fast. With a full World Boss crowd the fight is short, but he hits hard with fire. In the recorded fight on Torment XII players died around him, so keep your distance on Hardcore. Dataminers also found a line saying Diablo leaves after a minute, so don't wait.
  6. Pick up every Seal on the ground and read its tooltip. The next section explains why.

No message after the kill? Then Diablo isn't coming this time. Check the timer and come back for the next boss.

How to recognize the drop

Players found that can lie on the ground under the plain name Magic Seal. If you only look for a gold "Annihilus" label, you can walk right past it.

  • Pick up every Seal that drops after Diablo dies.
  • Using a loot filter? Make sure it doesn't hide Magic Seals while you farm World Bosses.
  • In your bag, look for the icon: a round blue gem in a gold setting. The tooltip says Annihilus, Unique Horadric Seal.

Good news: you don't have to fight other players for it. Many people in the same fight reported getting their own Annihilus.

What we know and what is still a guess

Blizzard hasn't explained how this encounter works. Everything here comes from players, videos and datamining. Here is what's known and what isn't.

Known from players Still unknown
The Echo of Uber Diablo appears after a World Boss kill, announced by "Diablo walks the Earth". What actually triggers him.
He does not appear after every World Boss. The chance per kill.
He drops Annihilus, often for many players at once. Whether it also works below Torment XII, where the recorded fight happened.
Reports started on September 30 and grew quickly the day after. Whether anything changed on Blizzard's side to start it.

The Stone of Jordan theory

In Diablo II, selling Stone of Jordan rings to vendors summoned Uber Diablo. The Stone of Jordan is back in Season 15, and dataminers noticed that the game counts how many of them players salvage. So the popular theory says: salvage enough rings and Diablo appears.

For now it's only a theory. Nobody has shown that salvaging a ring makes him appear, and nobody knows a number. Don't salvage a Stone of Jordan you'd actually wear because of it. Wearing the ring during the fight is the second popular idea, and it's just as unproven. The third one says you must carry the Splinter of Terror, Diablo's own Splinter. Players with other Splinters reported drops too, so that one looks weak.

Fights that don't drop it

  • Echo of Tristram. The coin, the fountain and the three Prime Evils give you the Hellfire Torch. That's a different secret with a different reward.
  • The Diablo from the questline under Tristram Cathedral. That's the story boss.
  • The Echo of Diablo that ambushes you because of your Splinter. All reports so far come from the World Boss version, the Echo of Uber Diablo.

Don't want to wait? Trade for it

A fresh can be traded. That's the easier way if you can't make the World Boss times or Diablo just won't show up. Before you hand over your gold, check three things:

  1. No "Account Bound" line in the tooltip. A rerolled seal can't be traded at all, so if someone offers you a bound one, something is wrong.
  2. Both Seal Powers fit your build. You can't swap them later. This is the main thing you pay for.
  3. Low numbers are fine. +5 All Skills looks sad, but you can reroll the numbers after the trade. Don't overpay for high rolls alone.

Playing Solo Self-Found? Then you can't trade, and World Bosses are your only way. Short on gold for a trade? We have Diablo 4 gold as well.

You've got one. Now what?

The order matters here, because one of these steps can't be undone.

1. Decide: keep it or trade it

Do this first. Look at the two Seal Powers. If they belong to a class or a skill you don't play, this copy is worth more to someone else. Trade it before you touch the Cube.

2. Reroll the numbers with Affix Value Reroll

Put the seal in the Horadric Cube and use Affix Value Reroll. It gives every stat a new number inside its range and can take the four main stats all the way to the top: +10 skills, 20% stats, 20% resistances and 10% experience. The numbers on the two Seal Powers move as well.

  • It binds the seal to your account. After the first reroll the tooltip shows Account Bound, and trading is over. You can see that line in our screenshot above.
  • One reroll may not be enough. Some players hit perfect numbers on the first reroll, others needed several. Players also noticed the stats tend to rise and fall together.
  • Bring materials. Item databases list Primordial Dust and Infused Horadric Resin for this recipe. Check the exact cost in your own Cube before you plan a long session.

3. The two Seal Powers stay as they are

Rerolling changes the numbers. The powers stay. Our seal in the screenshot has Flesh of Abaddon (ranks to Hellfire Skills) and Shadow of Harash (Damage Reduction while in Shadowform). The reroll took both to the top of their range, +3 ranks and 15%. It didn't swap either of them.

Look at what a power does. The green set name alone tells you little: under the same name, Flesh of Abaddon, another player's seal had Damage Reduction while in Demonform. And Damage Reduction in Shadowform is worth nothing if your build never enters Shadowform. And don't count on the other Cube recipe, Horadric Reroll, to fix it: Blizzard's description says it doesn't touch set powers on Seals.

Tip: rumors about Greater Affix versions, +15 All Skills or a "three into one Mythic" recipe are guesses for now. Don't save up seals for a recipe nobody has shown.

Who is Annihilus for?

is best for builds that run one full set and want extra skill ranks. For some builds another Seal is better.

Your Talisman now Swap to Annihilus?
Legendary Seal with one full set: five Set Charms and one Unique Charm Yes. Your setup stays the same, and you gain ranks, stats and resistances.
Seal of the Diamond Mind with two set bonuses Usually no. Diamond Mind lets each set bonus work with one Charm fewer. Annihilus doesn't do that, so your second set bonus can stop working.
Seal of the Golden Epiphany or Seal of the Severed Finger with two or three Unique Charms Check first. The Annihilus tooltip shows no extra Unique Charm, so you'd be back to one.
Character below level 70 Not yet. You can't equip it before 70. Our Power Leveling gets you there faster.

A real example: the Lightning Storm Druid guide on Icy Veins uses Annihilus in its standard version and keeps the in its Pit push version. Same class, same skill, different answer.

Still missing Charms for a full set? Our Set Charms Bundle gives you five Set Charms of one class set.

The XP bonus is nice for Paragon leveling after 70, but only if you still clear as fast as before.

Before you equip it, also read the red lines in the tooltip under "Properties lost when equipped". On one player's seal, the old Seal's 20%[x] damage was on that list. Sometimes +10 skills beat that, sometimes they don't. Test it on your own character: same dungeon, same Pit tier, both seals.

And the Hellfire Torch? Keep it. Blizzard confirmed that the way the Torch works with Charms stays as it is until Season 15 ends, and Annihilus doesn't take its slot.

Conclusion

The plan is simple: show up for World Bosses, stay after the kill, pick up every Seal and read the tooltip. Diablo won't come every time, so treat it as a bonus on something you'd farm anyway. When your seal drops, decide about trading first and reroll second.

FAQ

From the Echo of Uber Diablo. He can appear in the arena right after a World Boss dies, announced by the message "Diablo walks the Earth". He doesn't come after every kill.

Nobody knows the trigger yet. The only thing players agree on is that he follows a World Boss kill. Salvaging or wearing a Stone of Jordan is a theory, not a working recipe.

No. Annihilus is a Unique Horadric Seal from Uber Diablo. The Hellfire Torch is a Mythic Charm from the Echo of Tristram secret. You can use both in one Talisman.

Yes, as long as it hasn't been rerolled. Affix Value Reroll in the Horadric Cube makes it Account Bound, so trade first and reroll after.

No known way. Affix Value Reroll changes only the numbers and keeps both powers. Pick a seal whose powers already fit your build.

Not always. It's great for builds with one full set that want skill ranks. Builds running two sets usually keep the Seal of the Diamond Mind, because Annihilus doesn't lower set requirements.

Yes, to use it. The seal goes into the Talisman, which is part of the Lord of Hatred expansion, and it needs level 70.
