Diablo 4 Hellfire Torch Snapshot: How to Hit for Trillions
The strongest damage boost of Season 15 is a bug, and Blizzard has decided to keep it. The Hellfire Torch snapshot lets you run a full five-piece set bonus and two extra Unique Charms in the same Talisman, where the game normally makes you pick one or the other.
Here is how it works, what it really takes to get in and what we think about it. Our example is a Whirlwind Barbarian whose hits go from about 20 trillion to about 50 trillion.
Hover over or tap an item name to see its tooltip. The cards show value ranges from the game data, so your own roll can differ.
The snapshot at a glance
- What it does: a full five-piece set bonus plus two extra Unique Charms at the same time.
- What you need: both Mythic seals, a Hellfire Torch for your set, three Set Charms and two Unique Charms.
- How: fill the Talisman under , then swap the seal to .
- Is it allowed? Blizzard knows about it and leaves it as it is until Season 15 ends.
- The real barrier: the two seals. Torches are easy to find, the seals are almost never for sale.
A bug that became a feature
On September 30 Blizzard wrote that the Hellfire Torch works with Charms in a way it was never meant to, and that nothing will change during Season 15. The reason given: players have already spent their time farming and building around it. You can read it in the official statement. Later seasons are an open question.
We read that as a green light for the rest of the season. It also means something less pleasant: from now on the trick is simply part of the endgame. If you compare your damage with the top of the Tower leaderboard, you are comparing with characters that use it.
How the snapshot works
Two Mythic seals do two different jobs:
- lets you equip up to three Unique Charms.
- lowers the number of Charms a set bonus needs by one.
You can wear only one seal, so the game wants you to choose: more Unique powers or a cheaper set. The snapshot gives you both. You fill the Talisman while Golden Epiphany is in, then swap to Diamond Mind. The game doesn't switch the extra Unique Charms off after the swap, and Diamond Mind completes the set.
The set math: three Set Charms count as three. The Hellfire Torch adds +1 to its set, so that's four. Diamond Mind drops the five-piece requirement to four. Full set bonus, with two slots left for Uniques.
What you need, and where the real barrier is
- Both Mythic seals: and . Without both there is nothing to swap. can't stand in for either one.
- A Hellfire Torch that counts toward your set. Each Torch gives +1 Set count to one class set.
- Three Set Charms from that same set.
- Two Unique Charms that boost your main damage skill. They must be Charms. The regular gear versions of those Uniques don't fit into the Talisman.
We checked what players offer on diablo.trade on October 1, 2026. The picture is clear:
| Item | Listings we counted |
|---|---|
| Hellfire Torch, all classes | 887 from 346 sellers, put up within about one day |
| Seal of the Golden Epiphany | 2 in seven days |
| Seal of the Diamond Mind | 1 in seven days |
So the Torch is the easy part. Warlock Torches are everywhere, and 36 of the 40 class sets had at least one on offer. Thin spots are Druid (two sets with no Torch at all, two more with a single one) and the Spiritborn set Rezoka's Rage. The seals are the gate. You can't count on buying them, you have to farm them yourself, and you need both.
Missing a seal? Then a normal Talisman with one full set is the right place to be for now.
The swap, step by step
- Put in the middle.
- Put the Hellfire Torch in the bottom slot, the six o'clock position. In any other slot the trick fails.
- Add your three Set Charms.
- Add your two Unique Charms. All six slots are full now. Your five-piece bonus is not active yet. That's expected.
- Swap the seal to . Don't touch the Charms.
- Check the result. The five-piece bonus is active and both Unique powers still work.
| Talisman slot | What goes in |
|---|---|
| Middle | Golden Epiphany first, Diamond Mind after the swap |
| Bottom, six o'clock | Hellfire Torch for your set |
| Three slots | Set Charms of the same set |
| Two slots | Unique Charms for damage |
If your numbers drop later, check the set bonus and do the swap again.
Example: Whirlwind Barbarian
The set is Berserker's Crucible: three Crucible Set Charms and a Crucible Torch at the bottom. The two Unique slots go to:
- . You are always Berserking and take burning damage in return. While you burn, Berserking gives even more damage. A natural fit for a set built around Berserking.
- . Critical Strikes hit much harder, but your Critical Strike Chance drops. Make sure you can still crit.
With a normal Talisman and , this Barbarian hits for about 20 trillion per Whirlwind tick. After the swap it is about 50 trillion, in farming gear. Put into one of the two slots and single hits swing between 20 and 70 trillion.
Barbarians, watch the Torch label. In the game data two different Torch rolls carry the text "+1 Set count to Berserker's Crucible". One of them really counts toward Crucible. The other one counts toward Arms of Arreat and just wears the wrong label. The market shows the same thing: we found 49 Torches listed as Berserker's Crucible and not a single one as Arms of Arreat, while the other Barbarian sets had 21 to 32 each. So a "Crucible" Torch can be a dud for this build. If your damage sits far below normal after the swap, the set bonus is off: try another Torch. When you buy one, ask the seller to show the set bonus working.
Picking the two Uniques for your class
The Barbarian picks are an example, not a shopping list. The rule is the same on every class: take the two Unique powers that multiply the skill you actually deal damage with, and check that you meet their conditions.
- works on any class. Your hits roll random damage, so peaks are higher and lows are lower. Good for chasing a record, less steady for farming.
- works on any class that can keep its crit chance up.
- is the defensive pick. Big hits are spread over a few seconds and reduced. Take it if you die before your damage matters.
Should you bother?
- You push the Tower or high Pit tiers: yes. Without the snapshot you compete against characters that deal more than double your damage.
- You already own both seals: yes. The swap takes a minute and costs you nothing.
- You own one seal or none: don't turn your season upside down for it. A normal Talisman clears everything outside the leaderboard, and a second Mythic seal is a matter of luck.
- You just got : keep it for a build with one full set. For pure damage the snapshot beats it, because Annihilus now competes with a whole extra Unique power. More in our Annihilus guide.
Our take: right call for the season, bad for the game
We think Blizzard made the only fair decision for this season. Taking the trick away in the middle would punish exactly the players who farmed for weeks. That part we understand.
We still don't like where it leaves the game, for three reasons.
- It rewards the players who were already ahead. Our count says it plainly: Torches are everywhere, the seals are not. Whoever owns both Mythic seals gets more than double damage on top. Everyone else gets nothing. A gap that was already big gets bigger.
- You can't see it. No tooltip tells you the snapshot is active. It depends on the order of two clicks, and on Barbarian it can sit on a Torch with the wrong label. Power you can't read on your own character is bad design, intended or not.
- It makes the chase items worth less. was found on September 30. One day later it is the second-best choice for damage. Honest upgrades feel small next to a trick, and the Tower leaderboard turns into a list of who uses it.
What we'd like to see next season: if Blizzard enjoys a full set next to three Unique powers, write it on an item and let everyone build for it. If not, remove it at the season start, not in the middle. And the Torch label is no balance question at all. It is a wrong label and can be fixed today.
Until then it's part of the game. If you have the items, do the swap and enjoy the trillions.

FAQ
A seal swap in the Talisman. You equip your Charms under Seal of the Golden Epiphany and then switch to Seal of the Diamond Mind. The extra Unique Charms stay active, so you get a five-piece set bonus and two extra Unique powers at once.
Blizzard wrote on September 30 that the interaction is unintended and that it won't be changed during Season 15. What happens in later seasons is open.
Both Mythic seals (Golden Epiphany and Diamond Mind), a Hellfire Torch that counts toward your set, three Set Charms of that set and two Unique Charms for your main damage skill.
In the bottom slot, the six o'clock position. In any other slot the swap doesn't work.
Yes. The swap is the same for every class. Only the set and the two Unique Charms change. Pick the Uniques that multiply your main damage skill.
The label can be wrong. On Barbarian, two different Torch rolls both read Berserker's Crucible, but one of them counts toward Arms of Arreat. If your damage is far below normal after the swap, try another Torch.
For a build with one full set that wants skill ranks, yes. For pure damage the snapshot is stronger, because it adds a whole extra Unique power. Annihilus can't replace either of the two Mythic seals in the swap.
In the Whirlwind Barbarian example, single hits go from about 20 trillion to about 50 trillion. Your gain depends on your build and on the two Unique Charms you pick.
