WoW Forever Mage Talent Path

Your way from level 10 to 60: pick your goal and your spec, and below you see right away which talent to take at every level, which stats to look for and what to press.

All about the Mage

2What do you want to do with your Mage?

3How do you like to fight?

3What is your job in the group?

3How do you want to fight other players?

You slow every enemy you hit, freeze the ones that get close and finish them with Ice Lance.

The safest way to level a Mage, with slows, freezes and Ice Block for bad pulls.

Less burst than Fire, and in the first levels you drink a lot.

You open with Fire Blast, burn enemies down with Fireball and Pyroblast, and your crits keep them burning.

Kills single enemies fast, and after each kill your next Fire Blast gets 50% more crit chance.

Fewer slows and freezes than Frost, so a bad pull is harder to escape.

You fight with your wand and Arcane Missiles, then stack Arcane Blast to power up your next spell.

Strong area damage in groups, and it grows into a burst spec with Arcane Power.

The most mana hungry way to level, so you drink and use your wand a lot.

Arcane burns through mana when you level alone, so Frost or Fire level faster and you can switch later.

You slow whole packs with Blizzard, freeze whatever gets loose and hit bosses with Frostbolt and Ice Lance.

Strong area damage with slows, and Ice Block and Ice Barrier keep you alive when you pull threat.

Less burst on bosses than Fire or Arcane.

You clear packs with Arcane Explosion and burst bosses with Arcane Blast, free Arcane Missiles and Arcane Power.

Big burst on bosses, and Arcane Subtlety cuts the threat of Arcane Explosion by 30%.

You run out of mana fast if you stack Arcane Blast too often.

You burn bosses with Fireball, Scorch and faster Pyroblasts, and packs with Flamestrike and Blast Wave.

Big crits and Combustion for bosses, and Burning Soul cuts the threat of your Fire spells by 30%.

Needs crit from gear to shine, and your damage swings with lucky crits.

You keep players slowed and frozen, then shatter them with Ice Lance while they cannot reach you.

The most control of the three Mage specs, with Ice Block and Ice Barrier for when you get caught.

Your damage comes in short windows, you need freezes to land it.

You burst in short windows with Presence of Mind and Arcane Power, and shut casters down with Counterspell.

Strong burst windows, a 4 second silence on Counterspell and later Ice Block from Frost.

Your damage drops fast once Arcane Power ends and your mana runs low.

You pressure players with Fireball and faster Pyroblasts, stun them with Impact and slow them with Blast Wave.

Strong damage, random stuns from Impact and a Blast Wave that slows everyone around you.

Ice Block and the other Frost tools come late, so you are easier to kill while leveling.

Frost is the safe pick, while Fire kills single enemies faster but has fewer ways out of a bad pull.

All three deal good damage in groups, and Frost is the easiest to keep alive.

Frost is the easiest start, its slows and freezes keep players away from you.
