Move the slider: the map, your route and the dungeons follow your level.
Start at Northshire Abbey and clear the valley first. Around level 5 head down to Goldshire and work through the farms, the mine and the murloc camps in the east.

Next: Take the road west past Westbrook Garrison into Westfall.
Sentinel Hill is your base for the Defias story. Take the flight path, then work the farms and the coast. Keep the Deadmines quests, the dungeon fits a little later.

Lakeshire hands out gnoll and orc quests all over the valley. Run the Deadmines once between 18 and 20 with every quest you picked up, then you are ready for Duskwood.

Start at Anvilmar in the snowy valley, then move on to Kharanos for the troggs, the Frostmane trolls and the brewery quests. Ironforge is right up the road for your trainers.

Start below Aldrassil in the starting glade, then move to Dolanaar around level 6. Teldrassil is quiet and safe, so this is the calmest start in the game.

Auberdine is your home for a long stretch. Work your way north and south along the coast, the quests keep sending you back to town.

The Barrens is huge and carries you all the way to 20. Collect quests at the Crossroads and Ratchet, run Ragefire Chasm in Orgrimmar once around 15 and the Wailing Caverns once near 20.

Start at Camp Narache, then follow the road to Bloodhoof Village. Mulgore is wide and peaceful, and Thunder Bluff sits right at its north end.

Tips to level faster
Four things that save the most time while leveling, and your checklist to go with them.
Dungeons: once, with quests
The first clear with every quest pays a lot. Repeat runs give far less kill XP, and skipping the quests leaves about an hour of leveling behind.
Campfire and tent
Sit about a minute at a lit campfire for its buffs. A Leatherworking tent gives about 5% of a level after 30 seconds, once per hour.
How long it takes
A fast route reaches level 20 in about 4 to 6 hours. A normal quest run to 60 takes about 150 hours of play.

FAQ
What is the fastest way to level in WoW Forever?
Quest in the right order: take every quest a town offers, finish them in one loop and only then move on. Run each dungeon once with its quests, pick up every flight path and log out in an inn so you store rested experience.
Does everyone start on Zephras Isle?
No. Only Skyborne start on Zephras Isle and stay there until level 12. Every other race starts in its Classic starting zone: Elwynn Forest, Dun Morogh, Teldrassil, Durotar, Mulgore or Tirisfal Glades.
Are dungeons worth it while leveling?
Yes, once. Run each dungeon near the top of its levels with every quest for it in your log. Farming the same dungeon over and over for experience barely pays in Forever, questing outside gives you more.
What is the level cap in the WoW Forever beta?
The beta started on September 17, 2026 with a cap of 20. Blizzard raises it to 30 later on. At launch on November 4 at 3 PM PST the cap is 60.
Is the XP curve different from Classic?
The experience per level matches Classic. What is new is the content: about 1,000 new quests, new zones like the Riverglades and new dungeons on the way to 60.
Which class levels the fastest?
Solo, the Mage counts as one of the fastest in the beta thanks to burst, Polymorph and its own food and water. Hunters and Warlocks level very smoothly with their pets. Warriors and Rogues need more breaks since they cannot heal themselves.
How long does it take to reach level 20?
With a good route, experienced players reach 20 in about four to six hours played. If you take it easy, level professions and run dungeons, it takes longer.
When do I get my first mount?
Blizzard has not published the level and price of the first riding skill in Forever yet. In Classic the first mount came at level 40. Gather herbs or ore while you level and you will have the gold ready.
Which professions help while leveling?
Herbalism and Mining, since the nodes sit along your way and bring gold for the mount. Add First Aid for bandages between fights. Camping objects are new and give you extra buffs at a campfire.
Where do Skyborne level after Zephras Isle?
At level 13 the skycutter takes you to your faction: the Alliance to Dalaran and from there by portal to Stormwind, the Horde to Mulgore. After that we suggest Westfall and Redridge for the Alliance and the Barrens for the Horde.
