WoW Forever Raids
Every WoW Forever raid on one page. There is no raid at the November 4 launch. The first tier opens on December 9, 2026 with 3 at once: the Barrow Deeps for 10 players, Hyjal Summit for 20 and Onyxia's Lair for 40. Two new raids follow in spring 2027, and 6 Classic raids are not announced yet.

Raid guideHow to get ready for the first raids
Five weeks lie between the launch on November 4 and the first raids. Use them for these four steps. Every line carries its status, and what Blizzard has not said yet is listed at the end.
1Reach level 60

All three raids of December 9 are for level 60, the level cap at launch.

Both new raids sit on Mount Hyjal, and the beta client lists Mount Hyjal for questing at levels 55 to 60. Your last levels already take you to the raid zone.

2Gear up in the level 60 dungeons

Dungeon Set 1 drops in Scholomance, Stratholme and Lower and Upper Blackrock Spire, and four quests per class turn it into Dungeon Set 2.

Blizzard's dungeon overview of October 20 adds two new dungeons at the end of the road: Blackmaw Hold for levels 55 to 60 and Shaper's Terrace for 58 to 60.

First Aid brews the six healing potions in Forever, and every character can learn it.

In Classic every flask needs a Black Lotus, and picking one takes Herbalism 300.

4Set up your raid group
- Announced
Groups, dungeons and raids stay inside one ruleset, and Horde and Alliance never group. Settle ruleset and faction with your guild before anyone levels a raid main.

Since Blizzard's beta notes of October 15, Battle Shout, Trueshot Aura, Moonkin Aura, Leader of the Pack and four Shaman totems reach the whole raid, not just your party.

When do raids open in WoW Forever?
On December 9, 2026, five weeks after launch. There is no raid at the November 4 launch yet.
Which raids come first in WoW Forever?
Three at once: the Barrow Deeps for 10 players, Hyjal Summit for 20 players and Onyxia's Lair for 40 players.
How many players do the WoW Forever raids need?
The Barrow Deeps is for 10 players, Hyjal Summit for 20 and Onyxia's Lair for 40. All three are level 60. If your guild is short on players by December 9, raid runs for all three are planned among our WoW Forever boosts, next to leveling and dungeons.
Is Onyxia's Lair in WoW Forever?
Yes. Onyxia's Lair opens on December 9, 2026 as the only Classic raid of the first tier, together with the two new raids.
What level do I need for raids?
Level 60. Gear up in the level 60 dungeons first, like Blackrock Depths, Upper Blackrock Spire or Stratholme.
Are Molten Core and Blackwing Lair coming back?
Blizzard has not announced them for Forever yet. The roadmap for summer 2027 lists a revamped iconic raid without a name so far.
What comes after December 9?
In spring 2027 two new raids for 10 and 20 players, plus a legendary questline, two dungeons and a new area. In summer 2027 a revamped iconic raid and one more new raid.
Do raids give Legacy Points?
Yes. The Raids category is worth 3 points: defeat Onyxia, all 13 bosses of Hyjal Summit and all 8 bosses of the Barrow Deeps, 1 point each.
What loot drops in the new raids?
Hyjal Summit and the Barrow Deeps bring new tier sets for every class and a shared legendary reward. On November 5 Blizzard showed Forever's first legendary, Taldramir, the Whispering Wood, without saying where it drops or what it does. Set names and stats are not out yet.
Do I need an attunement for the raids?
Blizzard has not announced an attunement for any of the three raids. In Classic, Onyxia's Lair needed the Drakefire Amulet.
Will new raid tiers make my gear useless in WoW Forever?
Blizzard says it wants the power jump from one raid tier to the next to stay as small as possible. In an interview with Inven Global, published October 8, Associate Production Director Clay Stone said some best-in-slot gear may come from an earlier raid tier or from dungeons and stay in use for a long time, but not forever. He also said it is too early to say whether gear progression will get a soft reset. He made the same point about small jumps on the podcast Friends Per Second.
