Alcaz Prison, shown at BlizzCon as Alcaz Island Prison, is a new WoW Forever dungeon for levels 48–53 on Alcaz Island, off the north-east coast of Dustwallow Marsh. It is not open in the beta yet and arrives with the launch on 4 November 2026.

Overview

Inside Alcaz Prison

The Defias Brotherhood is rumored to have held high-ranking nobles here for ransom, and the rumor once even named King Varian Wrynn. Blizzard says the Defias and the naga inside are now in some sort of fight with each other, which makes it a good moment to move in. Their screenshot shows naga in a stone corridor under a dark timber ceiling, with more of them in a lit hall behind.

Only one boss is known by name. The achievement list of the beta client counts kills of Blazeroar, and a Blazeroar kill is the one that counts for Alcaz Prison in the Master Spelunker achievement, which makes Blazeroar the final boss. The other bosses, their abilities and the loot are not out yet.

Level 48–53 is the range the dungeon is tuned for, not a minimum entry level. Blizzard announced this range for Forever.

Not yet. Alcaz Prison is missing from the open dungeons in Blizzard's beta notes of 24 September and 1 October, and the level 30 cap of the beta keeps a level 48–53 dungeon out for now. Blizzard has named no beta date, the prison is set for the launch on 4 November 2026 with the other new dungeons. Once it opens, this page gets the portal, the bosses, the quests and the loot within a day or two.

The small Classic prison hut and its three little cells at the north end of the island path are gone. In their place stands a new, much larger stone building at about 75.0, 14.7. It is the only new building on the island, so the entrance is most likely there.

Before you go

Plan for Defias and nagaBlizzard named both as the enemies inside. Both are humanoids, so Polymorph, Sap and other humanoid crowd control should have targets.
Discover your flight path earlyTheramore and Brackenwall Village only work once you have visited them. Pick yours up while you quest in Dustwallow Marsh.
Restock before the swimRepair and buy food, drink and reagents at your flight path town.

Some sites already list five Alcaz bosses with health values and a loot table. None of that comes from Blizzard or the game, which so far name one boss, Blazeroar.
Do not count on the Defias and the naga fighting each other to make your pulls easier. Nobody has seen yet how that fight plays out inside.
