Druid

Shift between bear, cat and caster to tank, fight or heal.

You are a shapeshifter who tanks in Bear Form, fights in melee as a cat, heals with spells that tick over time or casts Moonfire and Wrath from range. Your talents set your main role, and you can still shift forms in the middle of a fight when a pull goes wrong. The first ten levels are slow, but from Cat Form at 20 you level quickly and heal yourself between fights.

The three specs

Best to level: Feral CombatBear Form at 10 and Cat Form at 20 hit much harder than early Wrath, Feral Swiftness speeds up your travel and your heals keep you going between fights. Also good: Restoration.

Balance

Damage

You cast Wrath and Starfire from range, keep Moonfire and Insect Swarm ticking and later become a Moonkin that raises your party's crit chance. Early Wrath hits softly, so Balance levels slower than Feral Combat and needs spell power gear.

Feral Combat

TankDamage

One tree covers Cat Form damage and Bear Form tanking, and both forms now hit harder with a better weapon. You level in Bear Form from 10 and Cat Form from 20, and the same talents let you tank dungeons.

Restoration

Healer

You heal with Rejuvenation and Regrowth that tick over time, Healing Touch for big single heals and Swiftmend for emergencies, and later Wild Growth heals your whole party. It is a strong dungeon healer but slow when you quest alone.

Dungeon loot for your Druid

What is new for the Druid in Forever

Seen in the beta, unless it says otherwise.

  • Bear Form and Cat Form now scale with your weapon, and you can use potions and other consumables while shapeshifted.

  • Furor no longer gives a flat burst of Energy when you enter Cat Form, so powershifting is gone. King of the Jungle later turns Tiger's Fury into your Energy button.

  • Omen of Clarity and Nature's Grasp are trained spells now, not talents, and the old Improved Mark of the Wild bonus is built into Mark of the Wild.

  • Revive is a new resurrection you can cast out of combat from level 12, and Entangling Roots now works indoors, which helps a lot in dungeons.

  • Each tree gets tools from later expansions: Mangle, Lacerate and Berserk for Feral Combat, Eclipse for Balance, and Wild Growth plus a Swiftmend that no longer uses up your heal for Restoration.
