WoW Forever Herbalism Leveling Guide 1–300

Seven steps take Herbalism from 1 to 300: Peacebloom, Silverleaf and Earthroot to 70, Mageroyal and Briarthorn to 115, Kingsblood and Liferoot to 170, Goldthorn to 205, Firebloom and Purple Lotus to 230, Sungrass and Golden Sansam to 270, then Dreamfoil, Plaguebloom and Icecap to 300. Train Journeyman at 50, Expert at 125 and Artisan at 200.

Herbalism leveling route from 1 to 300

Each step names the herbs that still give skill-ups and the zones where most of them grow, for your faction. A herb gives a sure point while it is orange and usually one while it is yellow, green ones rarely pay. Tap a herb to see it on the map.

  1. Skill1–70

    Peacebloom, Silverleaf and Earthroot

    Mageroyal, Briarthorn and Stranglekelp

Mageroyal and Briarthorn share their spots, and both can give Swiftthistle on the side. Stranglekelp grows under water along the coasts, so take it when your loop passes the shore.

    Goldthorn, Khadgar's Whisker and Fadeleaf

Goldthorn, Fadeleaf and Khadgar's Whisker share most of their zones, so one loop covers all three. Wintersbite grows only in the Alterac Mountains, skip it unless you pass by anyway.

Also on the way: Wintersbite (195, only Alterac Mountains)

Firebloom, Purple Lotus and Arthas' Tears

  6. Skill230–270

Sungrass, Blindweed, Gromsblood and Golden Sansam

Sungrass carries this step. Blindweed grows almost only in the Swamp of Sorrows, Gromsblood in Felwood, the Blasted Lands and Desolace, Ghost Mushroom mostly in the Hinterlands.

Also on the way: Ghost Mushroom (245, The Hinterlands)

    Both factionsspawn points

    1. Un'Goro Crater48–55136
    2. Feralas40–50122
    3. Felwood48–55110

    5. Blasted Lands45–5566
  7. Skill270–300

Dreamfoil, Mountain Silversage, Plaguebloom, Icecap and Black Lotus

The last stretch. Icecap grows only in Winterspring, Plaguebloom only in the Plaguelands and Felwood. Black Lotus needs 300 and has few spawn points, so Dreamfoil and Mountain Silversage get you there, not a Lotus hunt.

    Both factionsspawn points

    1. Eastern Plaguelands53–60334
    2. Winterspring53–60298
    3. Azshara45–55148
    4. Felwood48–55139
    5. Un'Goro Crater48–55117

The number next to a zone counts the step's spawn points there.

What Forever changes for herbalists

  • A quest in every starting area around level 3 to 4 gives you a free manual. It teaches Herbalism, Mining or Skinning if you have fewer than two professions and adds 2 skill points, up to 15.

    Beta data
  • First Aid brews the six healing potions now, so Peacebloom, Briarthorn, Bruiseweed, Liferoot, Sungrass and Golden Sansam sell to everyone who levels First Aid, not just to alchemists.

    Beta data
  • Herbs can give Scarce extras on top of the herb: Frilled Lichen, Rosecap and Stranglevine, plus herb seeds in four tiers. Alchemy turns the three into Cerulean Dye, Magenta Dye and Viridian Dye, which go into over a hundred new recipes. Where they dropped in the beta.

    Beta
  • Herbalists build three camp objects: the Incense Candle at skill 20, the Greenhouse at 140, which grows herbs from your seeds, and the Seed Hybridizer at 300. Every camp object.

    Beta data
  • The Tauren racial Cultivation grows a copy of a nearby herb that anyone can pick, once per herb. Since the beta notes of September 24 your level must be at least the herb's skill divided by 5, so level 30 for a skill 150 herb.

    Confirmed
  • Herbalism pays no Legacy Points, only the six crafting professions do at 150, 225 and 300. What Legacy gives a herbalist is the perk Bountiful Harvest: 20 percent more Scarce materials per rank, twice as many at rank 5. Plan it in the Legacy calculator.

    Confirmed
  • Herbs are shared like in Classic: beta players report a herb is gone after one to four pickers, whoever comes first. When a loop comes up empty, change zone instead of running it again.

    Player report
  • Marefoil, Demonsage and Death Lotus are new endgame herbs without a known spot yet. A new glove enchant finds Death Lotus while you pick herbs in Mount Hyjal, so expect herbs there. We add their spots once they show up in the game.

FAQ

What is the fastest way to level Herbalism in WoW Forever?

Pick only orange and yellow herbs and move on with each step: your starting zone to 70, the Barrens, Westfall or Silverpine Forest to 115, the Wetlands, Stonetalon or Hillsbrad to 170, Stranglethorn Vale to 205, Tanaris and Feralas to 230, Un'Goro and Felwood to 270, then the Eastern Plaguelands and Winterspring to 300. That is a lot of loops across the map. If you would rather spend your evenings elsewhere, a WoW Forever Herbalism boost levels the skill on your character, the full 1–300 or only the range you still need.

When can I train Expert and Artisan Herbalism?

Journeyman at skill 50 and level 10, Expert at 125 and level 20, Artisan at 200 and level 35. In Classic the regular Herbalism trainers teach every rank, only the apprentice trainers stop at the first one.

Where do I learn Herbalism in WoW Forever?

Take the free manual from the starter quest around level 3 to 4, or talk to the new Junior trainer in your starting area for the first rank. Full trainers stand in all six capitals, on Zephras Isle and in leveling zones such as the Wetlands, Hillsbrad Foothills and Stranglethorn Vale.

What skill do I need for Black Lotus?

Herbalism 300. It grows on few spots in the Burning Steppes, Silithus, Winterspring and the Eastern Plaguelands, and Gromsblood, Golden Sansam, Dreamfoil, Mountain Silversage and Plaguebloom can give one now and then.

What does Tauren Cultivation do in WoW Forever?

It grows a copy of a nearby herb that anyone can pick, once per herb, on a 15 minute cooldown. Your level must be at least the herb's skill divided by 5, so a Tauren needs level 60 for Black Lotus.

Is Herbalism good for gold in WoW Forever?

Yes. The healing potion herbs sell to every First Aid player, and the Scarce extras were among the dearest materials of the beta: in the beta auction house of October 13 Frilled Lichen went for 80 silver to about 2 gold and Black Lotus for about 20 to 45 gold.

What are Frilled Lichen, Rosecap and Stranglevine?

Scarce materials that herbs give now and then on top of the herb. Alchemists make Cerulean, Magenta and Viridian Dye from them at skill 50, 130 and 230, and the dyes go into over a hundred new recipes.

Checked Oct 21, 2026. Herbs, skill levels, spawn points, yields and recipe uses follow the WoW Forever database, the skill colours, trainer ranks and yield rates are the Classic values, the Forever changes come from Blizzard's beta notes and Legacy post and from the beta client.
