Stacks of 20Beta data
Ores, hides, most meats, the elementals, essences and spider silks stack to 20 now, twice the Classic stack. Your bags hold twice as much farm.
Quick access
Search any ore, herb, cloth or reagent and see on the map where to farm it: the best zones, the mobs with the highest drop rates and the skill you need.

Copper to Thorium, the stones for your sharpening and grinding recipes and the rare veins like Dark Iron. Every vein below is on the map.
Peacebloom to Black Lotus with the skill every herb needs and where it grows. Alchemy, First Aid and the new dyes eat all of them.
Linen to Runecloth and Felcloth drop from humanoids of your level. The best camps and dungeons for each cloth, with the mobs that drop it most.
Light Leather to Rugged Leather, the hides and scales, and which beasts give the most. Leatherworking got more new recipes than any other profession.
Elemental Fire, Earth, Water and Air, the Hearts, Cores and Globes and the Essences of the endgame. Mostly drops from elementals and undead.
Dust, essences and shards come from disenchanting green and better gear. The level of the item decides what you get.
Raw fish from pools and open water, meat from beasts. Food gives a little bonus experience in Forever, so cooks buy more than in Classic.
Malachite to Azerothian Diamond come as a bonus from mining veins. The vein decides which gems can drop.
Spider silks, pearls, venom sacs and the other drops crafters need, plus the new Scarce materials of Forever.
Set your skill and see what still gives points and where most of it grows.

Stacks of 20Beta data
Ores, hides, most meats, the elementals, essences and spider silks stack to 20 now, twice the Classic stack. Your bags hold twice as much farm.
New Scarce materialsBeta data
Gathering gives rare extras: Pyrite, Bauxite and Pitchblende from mining, Frilled Lichen, Rosecap, Stranglevine and herb seeds from herbs, Pristine Leather, Hide and Scale from skinning. They go into the new dyes, Sulfuric Acid, Sandpaper and over a hundred new recipes.
Camp objects for gatherersBeta data
At skill 140 a miner builds a Rock Garden that spawns a common vein at the camp over time, and a herbalist builds a Greenhouse that grows herbs from seeds. Place them whenever you rest.
Healing potions moved to First AidBeta data
First Aid now brews the six healing potions. Everyone can learn it, so Peacebloom, Briarthorn, Bruiseweed, Liferoot, Sungrass and Golden Sansam sell to far more players.
A free gathering manualBeta data
An early quest around level 3 gives you a free Mining, Herbalism or Skinning manual, and new trainers stand in the starting areas. Full trainers also wait on Zephras Isle and in Powderfuse Port.
Find Fish and fish vendorsBeta data
Fishers get Find Fish, which shows pools on the minimap. Fishing suppliers now sell some raw fish in small stocks, so cheap low level fish will not be rare.
Tauren Cultivation reworkedConfirmed
Tauren can Cultivate a herb once for a second harvest. Since September 24 your level must be at least the herb skill divided by 5.
Legacy for gatherersConfirmed
Each profession pays a Legacy Point at 150, 225 and 300. The Bountiful Harvest perk adds 20 percent Scarce materials per rank, twice as many at rank 5.
Nodes are sharedBeta
Beta players report that a vein or herb is gone after one to four gatherers, whoever gets there first. When a loop comes up empty, change zone instead of running it again.
New endgame materialsBeta data
Marefoil, Demonsage, Death Lotus, Heavy Thorium Ore, Fel Crystal and Fel Leather are in the game files without a known source yet. A new glove enchant finds Death Lotus in Mount Hyjal, so expect herbs there. We add their spots when they show up.
Mining and Herbalism togetherClassic
Both use the same open world loops. Track the more valuable one for the zone and you still pass the other nodes on the way.
Druids gather fastestClassic
Travel Form to move, Prowl to skip pulls. Hunters and Warlocks let the pet hold the mob while they mine, Feign Death drops combat.
Skill boosts open nodes earlyBeta data
Mining and Herbalism glove enchants, the Goblin Mining Helmet and the new Advanced Skinning glove enchant (+10) let you gather a tier before your skill gets there.

Dungeon trash pays three timesClassic

Skin everything on your wayClassic
Skinning needs your level times 5 in skill for a beast above level 20. Skin every beast you or others kill, it is a second income on the same route.
Fish pools with a lureBeta data
Find Fish shows the pools. With the Legacy perk Luremaster every lure has a 50 percent chance of an extra fish.
Stack your farmsClassic
Pick zones that give two things at once: Badlands rock elementals give Elemental Earth and Solid Stone, Dire Maul satyrs give Felcloth and Demonic Runes, Un'Goro has Thorium, high herbs and Devilsaurs.
