The best PvP class and spec in WoW Forever right now is Demonology Warlock, ahead of Discipline Priest and Frost Mage. Discipline Priest leads battlegrounds and healers, Beast Mastery Hunter world PvP, Demonology Warlock duels.

Forever Open: results of the level 30 duel tournament
The Forever Open was a community duel tournament on the beta on October 17 and 18. Every entrant played a new Horde character at level 30 with the last name Foreverpvp, so the kits were smaller than on the duel board above, which ranks for level 60. Organisers' rules
Qualifiers
October 17 from 17:00 UTC, six Swiss rounds, ranked within each class
Finals
October 18, the top 4 of each class (36 players), double elimination: best of 3 in the upper bracket, best of 1 in the lower bracket except a best of 3 lower final, one best of 5 grand final without a reset
Champion
Warlockguy (Warlock), 3–1 in the grand final against Neepzen (Warlock). Two Enhancement Shamans took third and fourth place.
Results by class
Qualifiers on October 17: 1,700 players registered in the brackets, 1,380 of them checked in, most of them Hunters (298 registered), the fewest Warriors (95 registered). In 4,585 duels between different classes Paladins won 63% of theirs, Warlocks 60% and Priests 53%, Warriors 38%. Finals: Warlocks won 13 of their 16 series against other classes, Shamans 14 of 20, Mages 2 of 10.
Format
1v1 duels, level 30, Horde only, PvP ruleset

Rules that change the duels
Rogues and Druids always get the opener while the other player stands still. Warriors get a free Charge, except against Rogues and Druids.
Duels start 20 yards apart. Shamans may set up to four totems before the start.
Only your own class buffs count. No heals over time before the duel, but Power Word: Shield is allowed, which helps every Priest.
No traps set before the duel and no Warlock sacrifice before it. One minute between duels, so nobody waits for long cooldowns.
Protection potions, world buffs, holiday buffs and a list of items with control effects are banned, so the fight rests on the class kit.
One talent build for the qualifiers, locked at check-in. In the finals your talents stay as they are once you are called to the duel area, so nobody swaps builds against a counter.
Level 30 check: what each spec is missing
The tools of every spec's PvP kit that come only after level 30, talents from the talent trees of the game client and trainer spells from its spell levels, and the Horde race we pick for each class. Beta data
Legacy points are allowed. With the perk Talented at rank 5 you get talent points from level 5, so talents of level 35 come into reach at 30. Talents of level 40 and trainer spells above 30 do not. Beta
What the results mean for the tier list
The results above come from Horde duels at level 30 under the tournament rules, without any talent of level 40 and with class rules such as the free opener for Rogues and Druids. They show which kits worked at 30, not a ranking of the level 60 specs. We read them next to the public lists: where both pointed the same way, tiers moved, Holy Paladin and Retribution Paladin up for duels, Subtlety Rogue and Assassination Rogue down. Where they did not, as for Frost Mage and the Druids, the tier stayed. The class numbers never say which spec won, so no tier moved on them alone.
The reason for every tier, strengths and weaknesses, the PvP kit from the game client with the level a talent unlocks at, the best race and a PvP talent build.

Mortal Strike halves the healing on your target for 10 sec, which is why a battleground group still wants one Arms Warrior next to its healer. Alone it is a different story: Rage runs dry, there is no self heal, and every class that can kite keeps you out of melee range. Mortal Strike sits on the last talent row, so you get it at level 40. Overall Arms rises from C to B: every overall board we count grades it B or higher, ConquestCapped and wowforevertierlist A with a healer behind it, RankedBoost B, and the launch changes of November 2 raise Two-Handed Weapon Specialization to 2/4/6% and cut the Slam cooldown to 15 sec. Warriors were the worst class at the Forever Open, with 38% of qualifier duels won, so duels and the open world stay at C. LePrestore grades it C there at level 30, where it had no Mortal Strike yet, the level 60 lists WoW Forever Info and WoW Forever DB B, and Supatease, the oldest duel read, still calls it weak.
On October 1 Blizzard moved Iron Will, Improved Disarm, Improved Shield Bash and Last Stand up the Protection tree and called it a PvP tech spec. You get a 5 sec stun, a 6 sec interrupt and a 10 sec Disarm, but little damage. Good at guarding a flag or a node, poor at killing anyone.
Strong
Concussion Blow stuns for 5 sec, Shield Bash locks a school for 6 sec
Iron Will now on the first row: shorter stuns and fears
Low confidenceD → CPublic lists: ABBCCD for the spec
Fury got a full rework on October 1: Whirlwind hits with both weapons and Bloodthirst scales harder. That is raid damage, not PvP. Death Wish makes you take 5% more damage, Bloodthirst no longer heals, and you bring nothing that cuts healing. In a battleground you add pressure behind a healer, alone you lose most fights. Overall it rises from D to C: no overall board we count has it below C, ConquestCapped grades it B, wowforevertierlist C and RankedBoost A. Duels and the open world stay at D, where the lists split or only one grades it.
Medium confidencePublic lists: AAABBBC for the spec
Holy Paladins are the healers that are hardest to kill: Divine Shield for 12 sec, Blessing of Protection, Blessing of Freedom every 20 sec and a 6 sec stun. Holy Shock comes at level 30. What you lack is an interrupt and any way to stop a caster, so you outlast fights rather than win them. The launch changes of November 2 remove Voice of Truth, which made you immune to silences and interrupts for 6 sec, and Divine Precision now shortens silences on you by 10 or 20% instead. All three overall boards we count grade it A and all three duel reads B. In battlegrounds it stays at A: WoW Forever Info moved it from S to A for level 60 after these changes, LePrestore has B at level 30. In the open world it drops from B to C, where LePrestore and WoW Forever DB both grade it C. Paladins had the best qualifier win rate of any class at the Forever Open (63%), at level 30 and without Divine Shield, which comes at 34.
Strong
Blessing of Freedom every 20 sec against slows and roots
Medium confidenceC → BPublic lists: SABBCCC for the spec
Retribution got a new tree at launch: Conviction gives 2/4/6% crit to all spells and attacks, Vengeance stacks up to 5 times, Champion of the Light turns up to 60% of your Intellect into spell damage over 5 ranks, and Unsealed Wrath, the new last talent of the tree, stores your Seal and lets it go off again when you hit with a different Seal. That is more damage, but it does not fix what holds Retribution down in PvP: there is no interrupt and no slow, and a class that can kite walks away from you. Repentance and Hammer of Justice give you two 6 sec controls. Overall it rises one step from C to B: no overall board we count has it below B, ConquestCapped B, RankedBoost A and wowforevertierlist S. We stop at B, because the missing interrupt and slow are still there at 60. In the open world it rises from D to C, LePrestore grades it C at level 30 and WoW Forever DB B for level 60. Every duel read grades it C, so duels stay at C, and battlegrounds stay at C as well, where LePrestore has C and WoW Forever Info B.
Strong
Repentance and Hammer of Justice: two 6 sec controls
Holy Shield blocks 30% of attacks, and plate plus Divine Shield keep you alive. Templar's Bulwark absorbs damage equal to your full health for 8 sec, but the launch changes of November 2 let enemies dispel it, and the new talent Stoicism shortens stuns on you by up to 20%. Protection still deals little damage and has no interrupt. It holds a node in a battleground and annoys a single attacker, that is about it. Two of the three overall boards we count grade it B and ConquestCapped C, so it stays in C overall. For duels it sits at D: Supatease calls it weak at level 30 and WoW Forever Info grades it D for level 60, so for a duel you swap to Holy or Retribution.
Strong
Hammer of Justice, Blessing of Freedom and Divine Shield like every Paladin
Medium confidencePublic lists: SSAAAB for the spec
Sniper Shot hits from 45 yards and Aimed Shot is a basic ability from level 20, so Marksmanship wins the start of a fight before anyone reaches you. The launch changes of November 2 add about 110% to the bonus damage of Aimed Shot and 100% to that of Sniper Shot. Scatter Shot and Freezing Trap buy time, though all traps share one 30 sec cooldown now, and Viper Sting drains casters. Once a melee sits on you, Disengage only drops threat, it is no jump. All three overall boards we count grade it A or S, ConquestCapped S. Supatease called it S for duels before the October 15 changes to pets and Auto Shot, WoW Forever Info expects A for level 60 battlegrounds and duels, WoW Forever DB B in the open world, and Hunters won only 47% of qualifier duels at the Forever Open, so it stays at A.
Strong
The longest range in the game: Sniper Shot from 45 yards
Medium confidencePublic lists: AAAABC for the spec
A Crocolisk pet cuts the healing its target receives by 25% for 6 sec every 15 sec: a small Mortal Strike from range, on a pet that scales with your gear. Add traps that work in combat, Intimidation and Bestial Wrath, and Beast Mastery was the Hunter spec beta players talked about most in world PvP. The launch changes of November 2 raise Hunter damage: Aspect of the Hawk gives up to 110 ranged attack power, Arcane Shot and Serpent Sting hit harder, and all traps now share one 30 sec cooldown. In battlegrounds it stays at A, as WoW Forever Info expects for level 60, because the healing cut is a short window your group has to time. In world PvP, where you pick your fights, it stays at S, although WoW Forever DB, the one world list that grades the spec, has it in C. Nothing at 60 was tested, so the world S stays a call on the kit. The weak spot is the dead zone inside 8 yards, and Hunters cannot stun or interrupt on their own.
Strong
Healing reduction from range through the pet
Freezing Trap works in combat, 30 sec cooldown
Weak
Dead zone inside 8 yards
No stun or interrupt of your own, only the pet's Intimidation
Survival fights in melee: Counterattack roots for 5 sec after a parry, Strider Kick gives 30% speed and Surefooted shortens slows. October 1 halved the parry chance of Deflection, so you parry and counter less often than in the first weeks. Since the launch changes of November 2 roots from procs have diminishing returns, Counterattack and Entrapment included, Lightning Reflexes gives up to 15% Agility, and all traps share one 30 sec cooldown. Strong in duels and the open world, less useful when a battleground needs pressure from range. The lists split: ConquestCapped grades it S overall and wowforevertierlist B, and the level 60 lists WoW Forever Info and WoW Forever DB give B in every mode they rank, so it stays where it is with low confidence.
Medium confidencePublic lists: SSAAABC for the spec
Subtlety wins duels before the other side can act: Premeditation adds combo points before the opener, Preparation resets your Rogue cooldowns, Vanish included, and since the launch changes of November 2 Ghostly Strike lets your next Ambush or Garrote within 7 sec skip Stealth. Cheap Shot, Kidney Shot and Blind chain the control. Quick Getaway lets you keep a second target Sapped and gives you up to 30% speed for 3 sec after a Sap, and Death Mark, the new last talent of the tree, stores part of the damage you deal and releases it after 6 sec. All three overall boards we count grade it A or S, no level 30 duel read puts it in S (LePrestore A, Supatease C, Mobalytics B for Rogues as a class), and Rogues won under half their duels at the Forever Open, 47% of the qualifier duels and 3 of 10 finals series. Blind only comes at level 34, so the tournament saw Rogues without it, and ConquestCapped and WoW Forever Info both see Subtlety among the best duelists at level 60, so it stays at A. In a battleground it is weaker, because healers and area damage keep pulling you out of Stealth.
Strong
Preparation resets Vanish and your other cooldowns
A stun chain from Stealth
Weak
Weaker in battlegrounds, where area damage breaks Stealth
Most damage comes up front, a long fight helps the other side
Medium confidencePublic lists: SABBBD for the spec
Cold Blood guarantees a crit and Mutilate hits with both daggers, so Assassination still deletes cloth from Stealth. It sits in B because the tools that win long fights, Preparation and Premeditation, are in Subtlety, and the lists do not rate it higher: ConquestCapped and wowforevertierlist grade it B, Mobalytics grades Rogues B, Supatease calls Assassination weak, and only RankedBoost, a theory list of October 3, still has it in S. In the open world it stays at A, and the one world list that grades it, WoW Forever DB, now has it in A too. The launch changes of November 2 rework the Rogue: every Rogue learns Shank at level 24, a cheap off-hand strike that gives Energy back, and Mutilate hits harder and comes at level 40 now, as the last talent of the tree. There are no PvP results with it yet.
Combat trades the opener for staying power. Blade Flurry hits a second target, Adrenaline Rush comes at level 40, and Improved Sprint shakes off slows. You keep Kidney Shot, Kick and Vanish like every Rogue, but without Preparation you get one Vanish per fight, and a patient opponent waits you out. Every Rogue gets Poised at level 18, your first Energy attack after a rest costs 10 less, and Shank at 24, a cheap off-hand strike that gives Energy back.
Medium confidencePublic lists: SSSAAAC for the spec
Discipline heals through almost any opener: Penance heals or hits on a 12 sec cooldown and comes at level 30, Power Word: Shield soaks the opener, Psychic Scream peels melee, and Silent Resolve shortens stuns, fears and silences. On October 8 Penance was toned down: it had paid out like a 3 sec channel instead of 2 sec. Overall it sits in A, where ConquestCapped and wowforevertierlist agree. For duels it stays in S, where LePrestore and Supatease still grade it S at level 30 and Priests won 53% of qualifier duels at the Forever Open, the third best class. WoW Forever Info expects A for duels at level 60 and S for battlegrounds, so our battleground S has two lists behind it and the duel S is disputed. In the open world it drops from A to B: LePrestore grades it B at level 30 and WoW Forever DB C for level 60, and with cloth and few ways to escape a Discipline Priest wants friends nearby.
Strong
Penance: heal or damage every 12 sec
Power Infusion: 20% more spell damage and healing for 15 sec
Low confidenceB → APublic lists: SSAAABC for the spec
Shadow brings Silence, Psychic Scream and, from level 32, Shadow Word: Death as a finisher. Since the launch changes of November 2 a Shadow Word: Death that leaves the target alive costs you 30% of your maximum health (was 10%), so you press it for the kill only. Vampiric Embrace heals your group while you deal damage, and from level 40 Shadowform adds 10% Shadow damage and cuts the physical damage you take by 15%, which is what a melee meets at 60. Overall Shadow rises from B to A: every overall board we count grades it A or better, ConquestCapped S, wowforevertierlist and RankedBoost A. WoW Forever Info expects it among the best duelists at 60 (S) and A in battlegrounds, WoW Forever DB A in the open world. The level 30 reads split, LePrestore C and Supatease B for duels, and neither could show Shadowform, so the modes stay at B until a second list or a test agrees. Shadow lacks the full utility of a Warlock.
Strong
Silence for 5 sec on a 45 sec cooldown
Shadowform from level 40: 15% less physical damage taken
Weak
Cloth and few escapes, like every Priest
Shadow Word: Death costs 30% of your health when the target lives
Holy is the group healer: big heals, a Renew that can crit since September 24 and Fear Ward for a friend. In a group behind a frontline it holds up well. Alone it lacks Penance and Power Infusion, so it loses duels to anyone who can stop a cast.
Medium confidencePublic lists: AABBCCD for the spec
Restoration heals on the move with Riptide from level 40 and Nature's Swiftness for an instant big heal, and Tremor Totem frees your whole group from Fear. The launch changes of November 2 turn Riptide into a heal over time only, on a 12 sec cooldown (was 6 sec) and for about 40% less Mana. Earth Shock interrupts, Grounding Totem eats a Polymorph. Alliance can only play Dwarf Shamans, while the Horde gets War Stomp and Berserking, so this healer is stronger on the Horde side. Overall it sits in B: ConquestCapped and RankedBoost grade it B, and only wowforevertierlist has it in A. In battlegrounds it stays at A, LePrestore grades it A for level 30 premades and WoW Forever Info S for level 60, one list above us. For duels it sits at C: you are hard to kill with Purge and Grounding Totem, but you lack the damage to win, Supatease calls it weak at level 30 and WoW Forever Info grades it C for level 60. In the open world it stays at B: WoW Forever DB grades it D now, but one list alone does not move a tier.
Strong
Tremor Totem against Fear for the whole group
An Earth Shock interrupt while you heal
Weak
Riptide only from level 40, and it only heals over time
The launch changes of November 2 remove Lava Burst, and its place in the tree goes to a talent that gives Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning 5% more crit. Lightning Overload now copies a bolt 10, 20 or 30% of the time (was 3, 7 or 10%), Lightning Bolt hits much harder, and Elemental Mastery, renamed Lightning Mastery, stays your burst button at level 40. Every Shaman brings Earth Shock as an interrupt, Frost Shock, Grounding Totem and Purge. In battlegrounds it holds A: Purge, Grounding Totem, an Earthbind Totem that roots with Earthbound and buff totems for the whole raid group count more in a 15 against 15 fight than in a duel, and LePrestore for level 30 premades and WoW Forever Info for level 60 battlegrounds both grade it A. On the overall boards and in duels the lists split, so it stays in B there, and in the open world both world lists now grade it B, as we do. No PvP results show the November changes yet.
Enhancement hits hard in melee with Stormstrike, which also boosts your next Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning or Earth Shock by 20%. The launch changes of November 2 make Stormstrike hit for 150% weapon damage on a 6 sec cooldown (was 100% and 8 sec), double the Maelstrom Weapon procs and raise Flurry to 30% attack speed. Frost Shock keeps targets close, Ghost Wolf gets you back into the fight. Supatease grades it S for duels at level 30 and WoW Forever Info A for level 60 battlegrounds and duels, and two Enhancement Shamans took third and fourth place at the Forever Open, though Shamans as a class won only 46% of qualifier duels. All three overall boards we count grade it B, so it stays in B overall and A for duels.
Medium confidencePublic lists: SAAAAAB for the spec
Frost survives what kills other Mages: Ice Block comes at level 25 and saves a lost fight, Shatter turns Frost Nova into crits (roots from Frostbite have diminishing returns now), and Ice Barrier at 40 now gives 15% more Frost damage for a minute and another 5% while the shield holds. Frost Warding on the first row makes Ice Barrier and Frost Ward absorb more. Ice Lance is a baseline spell from level 20 and deals 300% more damage to frozen targets again, but the launch changes of November 2 put it on an 8 sec cooldown shared with Fire Blast, and Fingers of Frost at 30 still turns it into burst on a frozen target. Frost Blast is gone, and each stack of Winter's Chill makes your next Cone of Cold 20% stronger. Polymorph lasts 50 sec in the client with no PvP cap, Blink frees you from stuns and roots. ConquestCapped and RankedBoost grade Frost A and wowforevertierlist B, both level 30 duel reads A, and WoW Forever Info expects S for level 60 battlegrounds and duels, WoW Forever DB A in the open world. Mages as a class won 48% of qualifier duels at the Forever Open and 2 of 10 finals series, below what the lists say, and the new Ice Barrier and Ice Lance were never tested in PvP, so Frost stays at A.

Fire has Blast Wave and Combustion, which has 3 charges again since October 1. Impact no longer stuns from the burn of Flamestrike since October 8, and Critical Mass is back to 3 ranks for 6% crit. You keep Polymorph, Blink and Counterspell, you lose Ice Block and the frost control that wins duels. Overall Fire rises from C to B: ConquestCapped and wowforevertierlist grade it B and RankedBoost A, so no overall board we count has it below B. In each mode only one level 60 list grades it higher, WoW Forever Info B for battlegrounds and duels and WoW Forever DB A for the open world, while beta players saw Fire as the weakest Mage spec for PvP and Supatease lists it among the weak specs, so the modes stay at C.
Medium confidencePublic lists: SABCCD for the spec
Arcane Power and Presence of Mind give a big burst window, which is why we had Arcane at A. The tools that keep a Mage alive, Ice Block, Shatter and Ice Barrier, are in the Frost tree, so in a longer fight Arcane runs out of answers. Polymorph, Frost Nova, Blink and Counterspell come with every spec. Arcane Blast changed again at launch: each stack now adds 12% of your Intellect as spell damage and 100% to its Mana cost (was 15% and 175%). ConquestCapped and wowforevertierlist grade Arcane C, Mobalytics calls it very bad at PvP and Supatease lists it among the weak specs. Only RankedBoost, a theory list of October 3, still has it in S, so it stays in C. WoW Forever DB grades it A for the open world, the only list there, so world PvP stays at B.

Soul Link sends 30% of the damage you take to your demon and adds 3% damage. It sits on the 20 point row, so a Demonology Warlock has it at level 30. With Fear, Death Coil, a Felhunter's Spell Lock or a Succubus' Seduction you control most fights and take far less damage while you do it. The launch changes of November 2 give Warlock pets 2 Health per point of your Stamina (was 7.5), so the demon that soaks your Soul Link damage has far less health, and there are no PvP results with the build yet. Warlocks won the Forever Open at level 30: the grand final was Warlockguy against Neepzen, both Demonology Warlocks with Soul Link, and Warlocks won 60% of qualifier duels, second only to Paladins. LePrestore grades Demonology S for duels at level 30 and WoW Forever Info for level 60, Mobalytics grades Warlocks as a class S, and on the overall boards ConquestCapped has it in S, wowforevertierlist and RankedBoost in B. The overall boards split, but the only results that name the spec, the two Demonology finalists, back it, so it stays the only S overall. In the open world it falls from A to B, both world lists grade it B, LePrestore for level 30 and WoW Forever DB for level 60.
Strong
Soul Link: 30% of the damage you take goes to the demon
Spell Lock or Seduction from your demon
Weak
Your demon has far less health, and Soul Link dies with it
Tremor Totem and Will of the Forsaken counter Fear
We had Affliction at S for Soul Link, but Soul Link is a Demonology talent, so the S moved to Demonology. Affliction still puts on a lot of pressure: damage over time that can crit, Curse of Exhaustion to slow, Siphon Life to heal back, Death Coil and a 20 sec Fear. Fear reaches 20 yards (was 24), and a Shaman's Tremor Totem or an Undead's Will of the Forsaken cuts it short. The launch changes of November 2 give Warlock pets 2 Health per point of your Stamina (was 7.5), so your demon has far less health. All three overall boards we count grade it A. WoW Forever Info expects Affliction with Siphon Life and Soul Link to be the best Warlock at 60 (S for battlegrounds and duels), a build nobody could play at level 30, so it stays at A until that build is tested.
Strong
Damage over time that can crit, Siphon Life heals you
Curse of Exhaustion slows by 30%
Weak
Fear reaches only 20 yards
Tremor Totem and Will of the Forsaken counter Fear
Destruction is burst: Shadowburn as a finisher and Conflagrate on a burning target, plus the Fear, Death Coil and Howl of Terror every Warlock has. Without Soul Link or the healing of Affliction it trades blows and often loses the trade.
Medium confidencePublic lists: AAABBBC for the spec
Restoration is the healer that is hardest to pin down. Travel Form frees you from Polymorph and slows, Barkskin and Nature's Grasp work in any form, and Rejuvenation keeps healing while you run. The launch changes of November 2 slow its group healing down: Wild Growth now has a 3 sec cast, which a Restoration talent cuts by up to 0.5 sec, and Swiftmend only works on a Rejuvenation or Regrowth you placed yourself. In battlegrounds it drops from S to A: WoW Forever Info moved it to A for level 60 for the same reason, and LePrestore had it at A for level 30 premades. In Classic it was the flag carrier of choice, and ConquestCapped still says Druids carry flags best. Overall it stays at A, where ConquestCapped and wowforevertierlist agree. WoW Forever DB grades it C for the open world, the only list there, so world PvP stays at A. Alone it struggles, because Druids cannot interrupt or silence.
Feral has two stuns in Bash and Pounce, Feral Charge interrupts in Bear Form, and every form is immune to new Disarms since October 1. The launch changes of November 2 remove Berserk, which cleared and blocked Fear, and raise Shred, Claw, Ravage, Rip, Rake and Ferocious Bite by about 25–30%. Lacerate and a new talent for Ferocious Bite join the tree, and Shifting Power and Primal Bite are now the two 31 point talents, one for the cat and one for the bear. Strong in the open world, where you pick your fights, weaker in a straight duel. wowforevertierlist grades it A overall, RankedBoost S and ConquestCapped B, so it stays at A overall. In world PvP it drops from S to A: Berserk was part of what made it the open world pick, and WoW Forever DB, the one world list that grades the spec, has it in B. Druids won only 45% of qualifier duels at the Forever Open, the second lowest. For duels it stays at B: Supatease graded it A at level 30, LePrestore B, and WoW Forever Info moved the cat from A to B for level 60 once Berserk was gone.
Balance gets Entangling Roots that work indoors and, with a talent, hold up to three targets, plus Nature's Grasp and Barkskin in any form. Druids cannot snare, silence or interrupt and have weaker crowd control, and Balance has the least to make up for it. ConquestCapped, wowforevertierlist and Supatease grade it C, and only RankedBoost, a theory list of October 3, has it in A, so it stays in C.
World PvP: Demonology Warlock falls from A to B, now that both world lists we count grade it B, LePrestore for level 30 and WoW Forever DB for level 60.
WoW Forever DB regraded world PvP on November 3: Subtlety and Assassination Rogue B to A, Elemental Shaman C to B, Demonology A to B and Restoration Shaman C to D. Our Subtlety, Assassination and Elemental tiers already matched the new grades. Restoration Shaman stays at B, one list alone does not move a tier.
No other tier moves. These grades are forecasts for level 60, not results from live fights.
Reasons completed with the launch kit: Quick Getaway and Death Mark for Subtlety, Shank and Poised for every Rogue, Mutilate at level 40, one shared 30 sec cooldown for all Hunter traps, diminishing returns on roots from procs, Lightning Mastery for Elemental, Shadow Word: Death on an 18 sec cooldown and Vampiric Embrace on 30 sec.
No tier moves: no list has graded a spec again since the launch changes, and level 60 has not been played.
Rechecked against the launch client 1.60.1.70707, the launch changes of November 2 and seven lists. LFCarry's PvP board now gives every spec its class tier from the Forever Open win rates, so it no longer counts for a spec. ConquestCapped now grades every spec, and WoW Forever DB joins as a level 60 list for world PvP.
Overall: Retribution Paladin and Arms Warrior rise from C to B, Fury Warrior from D to C, Shadow Priest from B to A and Fire Mage from C to B, because no overall board we count grades them lower any more. Retribution gets a new tree for launch, but it still has no interrupt and no slow, so it stops at B.
Battlegrounds: Restoration Druid falls from S to A. Wild Growth has a 3 sec cast now and Swiftmend only works on your own heals over time, and WoW Forever Info and LePrestore both grade it A.
World PvP: Feral Druid falls from S to A, because Berserk and its Fear break are gone and the one world list for the spec has it in B. Holy Paladin falls from B to C and Discipline Priest from A to B, Retribution Paladin rises from D to C, each time a level 30 and a level 60 list agree.
Reasons rewritten for the launch changes of November 2: Lava Burst is gone and Lightning Mastery (was Elemental Mastery) is the Elemental burst, Ice Lance deals 300% more damage to frozen targets on an 8 sec cooldown, Ice Barrier adds 15% Frost damage, Frost Blast is gone, Shadow Word: Death costs 30% of your health when the target lives, Hunters and Feral Druids hit harder, Warlock pets get far less health from your Stamina, and Riptide only heals over time.
Kept: Demonology Warlock stays the only S overall, Holy Paladin stays A in battlegrounds and Feral Druid B in duels, and the Hunter tiers stay where the lists split. Damage tuning alone moves no PvP tier until it is played, a change to the tools a tier rests on does.
Rechecked against build 1.60.1.70532 and seven public lists, now kept apart by level (level 30 beta or level 60 forecast) and by mode. Grades for a whole class and copies no longer count for a spec. No spec moves overall.
Battlegrounds: Beast Mastery Hunter falls from S to A, because the Crocolisk's healing cut is a short window now and no list grades it above A for group fights. Elemental Shaman rises from B to A for Purge, Grounding Totem and Earthbind roots, A on both the level 30 and the level 60 battleground list.
Duels: Shadow Priest rises from C to B, because the level 30 reads could not show Shadowform. Feral Druid rises from C to B and Arms Warrior from D to C, in both cases a level 30 and a level 60 list agree. Restoration Shaman falls from B to C and Protection Paladin from C to D: hard to kill, too little damage to win.
Reasons rewritten on new facts: Champion of the Light is back at 20, 40 and 60% of your Intellect, Ice Barrier gives Frost Mages 3% more Frost damage and 3% more while it holds, Frost Warding adds 10 or 20% to the absorb, and Amplify Curse adds 20% to Curse of Exhaustion. Retribution Paladin stays C, it still has no interrupt and no slow.
Kept, because the lists split or only one list says more and no level 60 PvP was played: Demonology Warlock stays the only S overall, Discipline Priest keeps the duel S, Frost Mage stays A for duels, Restoration Shaman A and Arms Warrior B for battlegrounds, Enhancement Shaman B overall.
Re-ranked on the seven lists published or updated since October 3 and on the Forever Open results. Demonology Warlock is now the only S overall. Subtlety Rogue and Discipline Priest drop to A, Marksmanship Hunter, Holy Paladin and Feral Druid rise to A, Assassination Rogue and Restoration Shaman drop to B and Arcane Mage to C.
Duels: Holy Paladin rises to B, Retribution Paladin to C, Marksmanship Hunter and Enhancement Shaman to A. Subtlety Rogue falls to A, Assassination Rogue to B and Arcane Mage to C. In world PvP Feral Druid rises to S and Subtlety Rogue falls to A.
Left where they were because the evidence is thin or split: Arms Warrior, Protection Paladin and Shadow Priest overall, Restoration Shaman for duels, Restoration Druid and Marksmanship Hunter for world PvP.
Reasons rewritten where a newer list or the tournament contradicted the old text, among them Discipline, Subtlety, Arms, Marksmanship and Enhancement.
The qualifier count of the Forever Open is labelled now: 1,700 players registered in the brackets, 1,380 of them checked in.
Checked against beta build 1.60.1.70450 of October 16. No tier moved on these changes, they were not tested at level 60.
A Crocolisk's Dismember now cuts healing by 25% for 6 sec on a 15 sec cooldown (was 50% for 10 sec), and Sonic Blast and Mine! were cut too. Lava Burst comes at level 30, Frost Blast at 24 gives Mages a 40% slow, Champion of the Light was cut again, and Auto Shot and wands need half a second standing still.
Racials changed: Ruthless, Earth Fury and Savage replace the weapon racials, Blood Fury has a 3 min cooldown, War Stomp 90 sec, and Will of the Forsaken cannot be used while Scatter Shot holds you.
New: Forever Open results by class from the qualifiers and the final.
The Forever Open is over: Warlockguy (Warlock) beat Neepzen (Warlock) 3–1, and the results by class now count every qualifier duel and the whole finals bracket. No tier moves on them.
Checked against beta build 1.60.1.70338 of October 10, which changed no class tables, so no tier moves.
New: the Forever Open duel tournament with its format, the rules that change the duels and a level 30 check of every kit. Blind, Divine Shield, Death Coil, Chain Heal and every talent of level 40 are not there at 30.
Reasons updated where the newer level 30 duel lists disagree: Subtlety, Enhancement, Elemental, Holy Priest and Discipline. Frost now names Ice Lance.
The October 8 build fixed crits against players, which gave only half their bonus. Assassination stays at A, the bug is gone from its reason.
Warriors get more Rage from the hits they take, Entrapment roots only when a Frost Trap first goes off, Impact no longer stuns from the burn of Flamestrike and Penance was toned down. No tier moves until this is tested.
Every spec in four modes now: overall, battlegrounds, world PvP and duels. 27 entries instead of 9, each with its PvP kit and the level it unlocks at.
Soul Link is a Demonology talent: Demonology takes the Warlock S, Affliction moves to A.
Subtlety takes the Rogue S, Assassination moves to A. Frost replaces Arcane as the Mage pick (A), Arcane drops to B.
Arms Warrior drops from B to C: Rage is still short and the Crocolisk pet now cuts healing from range too.
Beast Mastery Hunter enters at A, and S in battlegrounds and world PvP. Holy Paladin stays B with a corrected reason.
First version: one board for battlegrounds and world PvP with nine specs.
14 honor ranks that start over every season. The Honor cap is 25,000 since October 1, and most Honor prices went up by about half. Honor ranks and rank 14

Rank 2 brings a new PvP trinket that every class can use: it removes all slows and loss of control on a 5 min cooldown. WoW Forever PvP gear
Confirmed
Crits against players gave only half their bonus from about September 25. The October 8 build fixed it, so crits hit players in full again.
How we rank
Ranked Nov 5, 2026, checked on Nov 5, 2026 against client build 1.60.1.70790.
Where our data comes from
Confirmed
Blizzard: 9 beta builds and 11 official posts since Sep 17, 2026, with development notes, hotfixes and class deep dives.
Beta data
Game client: talents, spells, cooldowns and the level of every kit tool from the tables of client build 1.60.1.70790.
Public lists
7 public PvP tier lists from Oct 3, 2026 to Nov 2, 2026, checked against the facts and the Forever Open results, level 30 grades and level 60 forecasts kept apart: a tier moves one step when two lists point the same way in that mode, or one list and a verified change to the kit it rests on. A tournament result counts only where it names the spec, grades for a whole class never count, and a single list only moves the confidence.
Organisers' rules
The Forever Open duel tournament of October 17 and 18: the organisers' rules and the results by class, real duel data at level 30, counted as evidence next to the lists and not as a ranking of the level 60 specs.
Counted lists
Seven lists that grade each spec themselves, kept apart by level and mode. Overall boards: ConquestCapped (page of November 2, a level 60 forecast with one grade for battlegrounds, world PvP and duels together), wowforevertierlist (October 18, a forecast from the beta) and RankedBoost (graded October 3 on build 70205). By mode: LePrestore (October 19, level 30 duels, premades and world PvP), the duel table of the duelist Supatease (October 6, level 30), WoW Forever Info (October 31, a level 60 forecast for battlegrounds and duels, checked on the launch build) and WoW Forever DB (November 3, a level 60 forecast for world PvP on the launch client). The grades next to each spec are theirs, one per list.
Not counted
Read, but not counted for a spec: grades for a whole class (the level 30 duel list of Mobalytics of October 23, the Hunter and Druid rows of LePrestore), tables built from class win rates (the PvP board of LFCarry, which since late October gives each class its tier from the Forever Open, the most played spec that tier and the other specs one tier lower), copies (ExpCarry copies LePrestore, U4N restates Mobalytics, Overgear, Timesaver, MMOExp and Boostroom share one class order) and pages that only changed their date (Gamer Guides, wowforever.co). Icy Veins has no PvP list yet.
Fan ladder
The duel ladder of the fans, Forever PvP Leaderboards, has about 8,900 class-against-class duels at level 19 and 30 as of October 20 and agrees with the tournament: Paladins, Priests and Warlocks on top, Warriors and Druids at the bottom.
Editorial
The tier is our call, made from these sources.
What the tiers mean
SWins most fights on its own and decides group fights.
AStrong, wins with a partner or the right opening.
BSolid, the matchup decides.
CHas a job, but loses more fights than it wins.
DAvoid for PvP right now.
How sure we are
High confidenceThe facts and the public lists agree, and it was seen in the beta at the current level cap.
Medium confidenceThe facts and most public lists agree, but it is not tested where it counts yet.
Low confidenceThe lists disagree or barely rank it. Our verdict rests on the kit alone.

FAQ
What is the best PvP class and spec in WoW Forever?
Demonology Warlock.
What is the best class for battlegrounds in WoW Forever?
Discipline Priest. Discipline heals through almost any opener: Penance heals or hits on a 12 sec cooldown and comes at level 30, Power Word: Shield soaks the opener, Psychic Scream peels melee, and Silent Resolve shortens stuns, fears and silences. Darkspear Islands puts 15 against 15, so group heals and control count for more than a duel opener.
What is the best class for world PvP in WoW Forever?
Beast Mastery Hunter. A Crocolisk pet cuts the healing its target receives by 25% for 6 sec every 15 sec: a small Mortal Strike from range, on a pet that scales with your gear. In the open world you pick your fights and often meet a second enemy, so stealth and a way out count most.
Which class wins the most duels in WoW Forever?
Demonology Warlock and Discipline Priest. Soul Link sends 30% of the damage you take to your demon and adds 3% damage. At the Forever Open on October 17 and 18 the duels ran at level 30, where every talent of level 40 was out of reach.
What is the best PvP healer in WoW Forever?
Discipline Priest, then Restoration Druid. Discipline heals through almost any opener: Penance heals or hits on a 12 sec cooldown and comes at level 30, Power Word: Shield soaks the opener, Psychic Scream peels melee, and Silent Resolve shortens stuns, fears and silences.
What is the weakest PvP class right now?
Protection Paladin, Fury Warrior, Protection Warrior, Balance Druid and Arcane Mage. Low damage. No interrupt.
Which class won the Forever Open duel tournament?
A Warlock won it: Warlockguy beat Neepzen, another Warlock, 3–1 in the grand final on October 18. In the qualifiers Paladins won 63% and Warlocks 60% of their duels against other classes, and in the finals Warlocks and Shamans won the most series. It ran at level 30 with Horde characters only, so every talent of level 40 and some trainer spells were out of reach.
Are Warlocks still the best 1v1 class in WoW Forever?
Yes, on the beta data. Warlocks took first and second place at the Forever Open, won 60% of qualifier duels against other classes and 13 of 16 finals series, and every Warlock finalist played Demonology with Soul Link. Paladins won slightly more qualifier duels (63%), and it is all level 30 data, so Demonology Warlock is our only S overall and shares the duel S with Discipline Priest.
Does a level 30 tournament say anything about level 60?
A little, and we say how much. The Forever Open ran at level 30 under tournament rules (community, beta data), so Arms played without Mortal Strike, Rogues without Blind and Warlocks without Death Coil, and Rogues and Druids got a free opener. We read it next to the public lists, kept apart by level: a tier moves when two lists point the same way in that mode, a result counts only where it names the spec, a class win rate never moves a spec, and the duel board still ranks for level 60.
Why is Warrior ranked low for PvP in WoW Forever?
The beta data says so. Warriors won 38% of qualifier duels at the Forever Open, the lowest of any class, and no Warrior went undefeated in the qualifiers. The kit explains it, Rage runs dry and there is no self heal or escape. Arms is B overall now, because every overall board we count grades it B or A with a healer behind it, but it stays at C for duels and the open world.
Could you queue battlegrounds in the WoW Forever beta?
Only for Darkspear Islands, the new 15 against 15 battleground from level 30 (announced). Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin and Alterac Valley are announced as well but were not open in the beta. That is why our battleground board is ranked on the kit and not on tested fights.
Discipline Priest or Restoration Druid: which is the better PvP healer?
Discipline Priest: S for battlegrounds and duels, and A or better on every overall board we count. Restoration Druid drops to A in battlegrounds, because Wild Growth has a 3 sec cast now and Swiftmend needs your own heal over time, but it is still the healer that is hardest to pin down on a flag run. Holy Paladin is the third healer in A overall, Holy Priest and Restoration Shaman sit in B, and no list ranks healers for PvP on real fight data.
When will the PvP tiers change?
As soon as level 60 PvP results come in. Every tier here is a call on the kit and on lists made before anyone reached 60. No big tuning is planned before the raids open on December 9, only fixes for bugs and serious outliers, then a larger pass once enough players are past level 30. That is a plan, not a promise, so we check every patch and move a tier when the lists or real results point the same way.
What is the best Warrior spec for PvP?
Arms, tier B. Mortal Strike halves the healing on your target for 10 sec, which is why a battleground group still wants one Arms Warrior next to its healer. Protection sits in C.
What is the best Paladin spec for PvP?
Holy, tier A. Holy Paladins are the healers that are hardest to kill: Divine Shield for 12 sec, Blessing of Protection, Blessing of Freedom every 20 sec and a 6 sec stun. Retribution sits in B.
What is the best Hunter spec for PvP?
Marksmanship, tier A. Sniper Shot hits from 45 yards and Aimed Shot is a basic ability from level 20, so Marksmanship wins the start of a fight before anyone reaches you. Beast Mastery sits in A.
What is the best Rogue spec for PvP?
Subtlety, tier A. Assassination sits in B.
What is the best Priest spec for PvP?
Discipline, tier A. Discipline heals through almost any opener: Penance heals or hits on a 12 sec cooldown and comes at level 30, Power Word: Shield soaks the opener, Psychic Scream peels melee, and Silent Resolve shortens stuns, fears and silences. Shadow sits in A.
What is the best Shaman spec for PvP?
Restoration, tier B. Restoration heals on the move with Riptide from level 40 and Nature's Swiftness for an instant big heal, and Tremor Totem frees your whole group from Fear. Elemental sits in B.
What is the best Mage spec for PvP?
Frost, tier A. Fire sits in B.
What is the best Warlock spec for PvP?
Demonology, tier S. Soul Link sends 30% of the damage you take to your demon and adds 3% damage. Affliction sits in A.
What is the best Druid spec for PvP?
Restoration, tier A. Restoration is the healer that is hardest to pin down. Feral Combat sits in A.
What is the best race for PvP?
It depends on the class. Our PvP pick per class: Warrior: Human, Paladin: Human, Hunter: Tauren, Rogue: Undead, Priest: Human, Shaman: Troll, Mage: Undead, Warlock: Human, Druid: Skyborne.
What changed in this tier list lately?
November 5: World PvP: Demonology Warlock falls from A to B, now that both world lists we count grade it B, LePrestore for level 30 and WoW Forever DB for level 60.
How often is this tier list updated?
With every patch. This version is for client build 1.60.1.70790. We rank everything again for level 60 as level 60 results come in.
