Warrior

Protection Warrior

TanksA

Medium confidencePublic lists: SA for the spec

Second behind Protection Paladin in most lists. October 1 moved several Protection talents up the tree as PvP tools and removed Toughness, the armor talent, while crits now give 100% more Rage. Since October 8 the hits you take give more Rage as well, and the launch changes of November 2 raise the threat bonus of Defensive Stance to 80% (was 30%) and Defiance to 7/13/20%. In the raid sim of November 3 it makes 1919 threat per second on one boss, second behind the bear. Strong on bosses, harder to heal through on big packs.

  • Strong
  • 100% more Rage from crits
  • Shield Wall and Last Stand
  • Weak
  • Few tools to recover from damage
  • The armor talent was removed on October 1

Paladin

Protection Paladin

TanksS

Medium confidencePublic lists: SS for the spec

The best tank in WoW Forever right now, in dungeons and raids. Every public list puts Protection Paladin first. Plate, Holy Shield, Consecration and Lay on Hands cover trash packs and long boss fights alike. The launch changes of November 2 raise threat for every tank: Righteous Fury adds 33% to all threat plus 90% on Holy damage, a Warrior's Defensive Stance 80% and Bear Form 115%. In the raid sim of November 3 it makes 1517 threat per second on one boss, behind the bear (2543) and Protection Warrior (1919). Threat on one boss is not survival and says nothing about holding a pack, so the order of the tanks stays.

  • Strong
  • First in every public list
  • Strong on packs and bosses
  • Weak
  • Less Mana back from Shield Specialization since October 16
  • Holy Shield deals less damage per block

Holy Paladin

HealersA

Low confidenceS → APublic lists: ABA for the spec

Holy Paladin moves from S to A: the one list that had it in S now puts it in B, ranked at level 30, and no list puts it on top any more. Plate and Divine Shield keep it alive, Cleanse handles three kinds of debuffs from level 42, and every Paladin brings Blessing of Kings. Its group healing trails the Priest and the Shaman, so it shines most on a tank.

  • Strong
  • Hard to kill
  • Blessing of Kings for the group
  • Weak
  • Less group healing than Priest or Shaman
  • Holy Shock only from level 30

Priest

Discipline Priest

HealersS

Medium confidencePublic lists: SSS for the spec

Discipline sits at the top of every list, for dungeons and raids. Blizzard calls the Priest the most versatile healer, and Power Infusion boosts a caster on top. Shields and Penance cover spike damage and steady raid damage. Penance was toned down on October 8, it had paid out like a 3 sec channel instead of 2 sec.

  • Strong
  • Built as the most versatile healer
  • Power Infusion for a caster
  • Weak
  • Cloth and few escapes
  • Penance only from level 30

Holy Priest

HealersA

Medium confidencePublic lists: SAB for the spec

Holy is the raid healer among the Priest specs, with group heals and a Renew that can crit. Lists put it anywhere from S to B. Discipline does more for a small group, Holy fits a raid that needs steady group healing.

  • Strong
  • Group heals for the raid
  • Renew can crit
  • Weak
  • No Penance and no Power Infusion
  • The lists disagree on it

Shaman

Restoration Shaman

HealersA

Medium confidencePublic lists: SAA for the spec

Restoration is the group healer of Forever: Chain Heal, Riptide, a heal over time that adds 25% to your next Chain Heal on its target, and totems for the whole raid. It sits in A in most lists. Alliance players can only roll a Dwarf Shaman.

  • Strong
  • Chain Heal and totems for the raid
  • An interrupt while you heal
  • Weak
  • Riptide only from level 40
  • Totems do not stack across two Shamans

Druid

Feral Combat Druid

TanksB

Low confidenceSim 990 · 100% of the top valuePublic lists: AB for the spec

Bear tanking got a big boost on October 1: more Rage from crits, a Swipe fix and immunity to new Disarms in every form. October 8 added more: crits give 100% more Rage (was 75%) and the hits you take give more Rage. The launch changes of November 2 raise the threat bonus of Bear Form and Dire Bear Form to 115% (was 50%), because the Paladin blessing that lowered threat is gone, and make Primal Bite the 31 point bear talent at level 40. In the raid sim of November 3 the bear makes the most threat on one boss, 2543 per second, ahead of Protection Warrior (1919) and Protection Paladin (1517). Threat on one boss does not rank tanks, survival and holding a pack do, so as a main tank the bear stays behind Protection Paladin and Warrior until it is tested at higher levels. A strong second tank and an easy switch to damage.

  • Strong
  • Most threat on one boss in the raid sim
  • Switch to damage without a respec
  • Weak
  • Behind Paladin and Warrior as a main tank
  • Untested at higher levels

Restoration Druid

HealersA

Low confidencePublic lists: ASS for the spec

Restoration holds A: two lists put it in S, one in A, and for dungeons it rises to A. Its heals over time can crit since September 24, and Wild Growth heals a group from level 40, with a 3 sec cast since the launch changes of November 2. Druids still cannot cure diseases and raids stay untested until December 9, so it stays at A. Innervate and a battle resurrection make a Druid welcome in every raid.

  • Strong
  • Innervate and a battle resurrection
  • Heals over time that can crit
  • Weak
  • No disease cure
  • Wild Growth only from level 40

What moved and why

  1. In the raid sim of November 3 the bear makes 2543 threat per second on one boss, Protection Warrior 1919 and Protection Paladin 1517. Threat on one target ranks no tank, so no tank moves.

  2. The launch changes of November 2 raise tank threat: Defensive Stance 80% (was 30%), Bear Form and Dire Bear Form 115% (was 50%), Righteous Fury 33% on all threat plus 90% on Holy damage. Threat on one boss does not rank tanks, so no tank moves.

Healers: Wild Growth has a 3 sec cast and Swiftmend only works on your own heals over time, Riptide only heals over time. No healer moves before healing is tested at 60.

  3. Holy Paladin moves from S to A for dungeons and raids together: the one list that had it in S now puts it in B, ranked at level 30, and raids stay untested until December 9.

The raid sim of October 23 ranks boss threat with the bear first, then Protection Warrior, then Protection Paladin. That is threat on one target, not survival or holding a pack, so no tank moves.

Paladins learn Righteous Fury at level 10 now (was 16), and its 90% threat on Holy damage stays. Restoration Druid holds A here and rises to A on the dungeon list.

  4. Protection Paladins make 90% more threat from Holy damage (was 60%) and store up to 4 Reckoning swings again, bears make threat with Faerie Fire, and Water Shield now triggers from any critical spell. No tier moves until this is tested.

  5. Bears get a 50% threat bonus (was 30%) and 100% more Rage from crits (was 75%), Warriors and bears more Rage from the hits they take, and Penance was toned down. No tier moves until this is tested.

  6. Every tank and healer with the reason, strengths and weaknesses for dungeons and raids, and a talent build.

Restoration Druid moves from S to A, the public lists disagree on it.

  7. First version, ranked for the level 20 beta.

How we rank

We follow every Blizzard change since the beta started on Sep 17, 2026: 8 builds and 11 official posts with development notes and class deep dives. We read talents and abilities straight from the tables of the game client. For damage at 60 we use the only public sim (MythicSim, as of Nov 6, 2026) as its own labelled column, not as the verdict. And we compare 5 public tier lists (Sep 22, 2026 to Oct 23, 2026): where they match the facts, confidence goes up. Where they disagree or nothing is tested, we say so.

What the tiers mean

  • SA group asks for it first. Top output and something nobody else brings.
  • AStrong in any group, an easy invite.
  • BSolid, does the job when played well.
  • CWorks, but trails the others clearly.
  • DNot recommended for this content right now.

How sure we are

  • High confidenceThe facts and the public lists agree, and it was seen in the beta at the current level cap.
  • Medium confidenceThe facts and most public lists agree, but it is not tested where it counts yet.
  • Low confidenceThe lists disagree or barely rank it. Our verdict rests on the kit alone.
