Where to learn Blacksmithing: ranks and trainers

Blacksmithing has four ranks. Each one raises your skill cap, and the trainer teaches it once your skill is high enough. The rank word in a trainer's title shows how far they take you. That is how Classic works, and the beta keeps the same trainers with the same titles.

Beta dataNames, titles and places from the Forever database on Wowhead. The list goes by title, so a trainer without a rank in the title is not in it.

Blacksmithing specializations

In Classic you pick one specialization from skill 200, through a quest from its trainer. You only ever have one, and its recipes stay closed to everyone else. Classic

Blacksmithing camp objects and their buff

Buff of every tier: Strength. Blizzard's Deep Dive recap says the Sharpening Wheel raises attack power. The client gives it Strength, and the numbers here follow the client.

Blacksmithing questions

What is the fastest way to level Blacksmithing in WoW Forever?

Our route takes 22 steps and about 388 crafts to 300. It uses only trainer and vendor recipes and switches as soon as a recipe turns yellow and its chance drops too far. Each of those steps needs its stone, ore or bars first, mined or bought. Short on time for that? With WoW Forever profession training a booster levels the skill for you.

How much does Blacksmithing 1 to 300 cost at vendors?

The vendor goods on our route add up to about 11g 31s. Herbs, ore, cloth and leather come on top, and their auction house prices are only known at launch.

When do I train the next rank of Blacksmithing?

Journeyman at 50, Expert at 125, Artisan at 200. Trainers charge gold for each rank, and Classic also asked for character level 10, 20 and 35. Blizzard has not confirmed whether Forever keeps those levels.

What is new in Blacksmithing in WoW Forever?

The beta data has 203 new Blacksmithing recipes. Blizzard talks about more than 600 new recipes across all professions. On top come Camping objects from skill 20 and a Legacy point at 150, 225 and 300.

Why is my count not exact?

Yellow and green recipes give a point only by chance. We use the average and round up. Enter your real skill after each step and the rest lines up again.

Short on time for the profession grind?

Every guide here shows how to do it yourself. If your evenings are short, our boosters take the grind off your hands. Options and current prices are on each service page.
