Camping in WoW Forever: Camp Objects, Buffs and Blueprints

Camping turns the Cooking fire into a camp. Light a Basic Campfire, and up to three players each add one object from their profession. Sit by the fire for a minute and you get every object's buff for one hour. Each profession has three objects, the first at skill 20, the better ones from dungeon blueprints.

How a camp works

One object per playerAnnounced

Light a campfire and everyone nearby can add one object from their profession: three at a Basic Campfire, five at a Journeyman Campfire, ten at an Expert Campfire. All camp objects share one cooldown of an hour, so you place one object per hour.

Sit a minute, keep it an hourBeta data

Sit or craft at the fire for one minute and you get the buffs of every object in the camp for one hour, in one buff. Each buff copies a class buff and does not stack with it, the Mana Well for example not with Blessing of Wisdom.

Crafting and swappingBeta data

One craft makes two objects, they stack to 20, and placing one uses it up. A tier 2 or 3 object can go on top of your profession's tier 1 object. It replaces it and keeps its buff.

Where you can campBeta data

No new campfire within 100 yards of another one, no more objects once every slot is taken, and each object only once per camp. The quest text says most folk do not want a camp in the middle of town.

One player reports that objects do not work inside buildings and instances. Player report

Campfires no longer hurt you below level 5 and deal less damage while you are below 90% health. Confirmed

The addon Camp Tracker shows which camp buffs you have and when they run out.

How to unlock camping

  1. Sit at a fireBeta data

The Great Outdoors is a level 6 quest you can take from level 4 from an adventurer at a campfire near the starting zones, for example Sam Sarsaparilla. Sit at the Basic Campfire until you get the rested bonus. It pays about 405 XP.

  2. Build the fireBeta data

With Cooking you craft the Basic Campfire Kit. It costs one Simple Wood, and you need Flint and Tinder in your bags. The kit needs only Cooking 1 and has a 5 minute cooldown.

  3. Learn your first objectBeta data

Every profession has its own quest, for example Camping 101: Alchemy, level 6, from level 4. Raise the profession to 20 and its trainer teaches you the first camp object. It pays 270 XP. Level a profession.

The fire comes from Cooking. The bigger it is, the more objects fit around it. Cooking also has two objects of its own. Beta data

Where the blueprints drop

Tier 2 blueprints drop from dungeon bosses. In the beta loot Wowhead recorded up to Oct 21, 2026, they dropped from 0.2% to 1.1% of kills at the Classic bosses and from 6.6% to 10.4% at the new Forever bosses, so the table says rare or common. Beta

Still open: Where Blueprint: Expert Campfire and the eleven tier 3 blueprints drop, and where their special reagents come from. The level 60 dungeons were not in the beta.

After launch on November 4

Wowhead also lists a vendor that sold the tier 2 blueprints. It was a test NPC on the PTR and is not part of the game.

Legacy perks for camps

  • Field Guide (Adventure) cuts the cooldown on adding camp objects, by 25% at rank 3. Not to be mixed up with the Skinning object of the same name.
  • Permanence (Resourcefulness) makes camp buffs last 50% longer, at every rank.
  • Reagent Economy (Resourcefulness) also made tier 1 camp objects free to craft in the first tooltips. The client text of build 1.60.1.70450 no longer says that.

Cozy Sleeping Bag

FAQ

How do I start camping in WoW Forever?

Pick up The Great Outdoors around level 4 to 6 and sit at the quest giver's campfire. A cook crafts the Basic Campfire Kit from one Simple Wood. Then do Camping 101 for your profession and learn its first object at skill 20.

Why is my campfire not giving a buff?

You have to sit or craft at the fire for a full minute, and the buffs come from the objects placed at it. A camp buff also does not stack with the class buff it copies, for example the Mana Well with Blessing of Wisdom. One player reports that objects do not work inside buildings.

How many objects can a campfire hold?

Three at a Basic Campfire, five at a Journeyman Campfire and ten at an Expert Campfire. Each player adds one object.

How long do camp buffs last?

One hour. The Legacy perk Permanence makes them last 50% longer.

What does the Camp Tent do?

After 30 seconds of rest next to it, it tops your rested XP up to 5% of a level, once per hour. If you already have more, nothing happens.

What does the Camp Chair do?

2% critical strike chance with spells and attacks. It comes from Skinning at skill 20 and does not stack with Moonkin Aura.

Where do camping blueprints drop?

From dungeon bosses, for example the Anvil from Gilnid in the Deadmines and the Spinning Wheel from the Unstable Sentinel in City of Dalaran. No source is known yet for the tier 3 blueprints.

Which profession is best for camping?

There is no single best one, each profession gives a different buff. The Camp Tent helps leveling, the Mana Well casters, the Lodestone and the Sharpening Wheel melee. A group with mixed professions gets the most out of a camp.

Checked Oct 21, 2026. Camp objects, values and German names from the client tables of build 1.60.1.70450 and the Wowhead Forever tooltips, blueprint drops from Wowhead's beta loot, the system from Blizzard's Deep Dive and the development notes.
