How to read the score
Every item earns points for the stats your spec wants, weapons also for their damage per second, and the score adds up every slot. The points are our weighting from the beta client data, not a simulation: they tell you which of two items for the same slot helps your spec more, not how much damage or healing you will do.
Set bonuses and Use effects do not count. A relic scores 1 point when its effect works on a spell of your spec.

Gear Planner questions
Which items are in the Gear Planner?
344 rare and epic items from level 50: drops of dungeon bosses, rewards of dungeon quests, the Dungeon Set 2 pieces from their upgrade quests and crafted gear. Raid gear stays out until the raids open on December 9. PvP rank gear and battleground rewards have their own page. PvP gear.
Is the start set the best in slot gear for my spec?
It is the BiS list of your class guide before the raids: in every slot the item with the highest score for your spec. Swap a slot and the score shows what you gain or lose against our pick. All class guides.
Why are the neck, rings and trinkets often empty?
Our level 60 list holds only 1 neck, 2 rings and 5 trinkets so far, and the trinkets work through effects the score does not count. We add more once the dungeons are run at level 60 after the launch on November 4.
How do I share or save my plan?
Your class, your spec and every slot you changed sit in the address after the # sign. Copy link puts that address on your clipboard, and anyone who opens it sees the same gear. The planner remembers your class in this browser only.
