Overview
Inside Lower Blackrock Spire
The lower city serves as a sprawling barracks for Rend Blackhand's Dark Horde. Orc legions share the ruins with Spirestone ogres and Smolderthorn trolls, while spiders infest another corner of the fortress. Unlike the elite forces housed above, these warbands occupy a crowded stronghold divided among several very different inhabitants.
Navigation is part of the challenge here, with ramps, halls and separate chambers spread through a vertical fortress. The route takes in places such as Hordemar City, Tazz'Alor and the Skitterweb Tunnels. At the end stands Overlord Wyrmthalak, the lower city's taskmaster, who answers to General Drakkisath.
Getting there
Head inside Blackrock Mountain and find the Hall of Blackhand within Blackrock Spire. In Classic, the Lower Blackrock Spire entrance is on the south side of the hall, across from Upper Blackrock Spire.
Show on the mapLevel 55–60 is the range the dungeon is tuned for, not a minimum entry level. This is the Forever level range as it stands today. It can still shift before launch.

Highlord Omokk is the ogre boss in Mok'Doom and a proxy for Urok Doomhowl. His fight pairs a knockback with an attack-speed and damage Enrage.
Abilities
- Enrage · Increases the caster's attack speed by 60% and the Physical damage it deals by 50 for 2 min.
- Knock Away · Inflicts normal damage plus 30 to an enemy and knocks it back.
Tactics
- Tank with your back against a wall so Knock Away does not throw you across the room.
- Save defensive cooldowns for Enrage rather than spending them all on the opening pull.
Healer
Keep enough healing ready to handle the faster melee hits once Enrage starts.

Shadow Hunter Vosh'gajin is a forest troll whose Curse of Blood makes nearby enemies take more Physical damage.
Abilities
- Curse of Blood · Increases the Physical damage taken by nearby enemies by 48 for 10 min.
Tactics
- Remove Curse of Blood promptly, starting with anyone taking melee hits.
- Check the whole party for the curse before moving on, since it lasts 10 minutes.
Healer
Expect heavier incoming damage on cursed players until their curse is removed.

War Master Voone is a forest troll with a punishing melee toolkit. Thrash, Mortal Strike and short control effects can turn a stable tank health bar into an emergency.
Abilities
- Thrash · Gives the caster 2 extra attacks.
- Uppercut · Inflicts normal damage plus 50 to an enemy, knocking it back.
- Pummel · Pummels an enemy for (100% of Spell Power) damage and interrupts the spell being cast for 5 sec.
- Snap Kick · Inflicts 4 damage to an enemy, stunning it for 2 sec.
- Mortal Strike · Inflicts 300% weapon damage and leaves the target wounded, reducing the effectiveness of any healing by 50% for 5 sec.
- Cleave · Inflicts weapon damage plus 30 to an enemy and its nearest allies, affecting up to 3 targets.
- Throw Axe
Tactics
- Keep other players away from the tank to limit Cleave targets.
- Use mitigation during Mortal Strike, which cuts healing received in half for 5 seconds.
- Leave room behind the tank for Uppercut's knockback.
- In Classic, Voone is immune to stuns, so do not build your defensive plan around a stun lock.
Tank
Keep building threat between knockbacks and Snap Kick stuns.
Healer
Stay out of melee reach to avoid Pummel interrupting a crucial heal.
Damage
Ease off if the tank is airborne and cannot keep building threat.

Mother Smolderweb is a crystal spider with a frontal stun and a poison that can immobilize both its victim and nearby allies.
Abilities
- Summon Spire Spiderling
- Crystallize · Stuns enemies in a cone in front of the caster, rendering them unable to move or attack for 6 sec.
- Mother's Milk · Poisons nearby enemies. Until the poison is entirely removed from the bloodstream by a knowledgeable medical professional, it will periodically immobilize a poisoned individual and any nearby allies.
Tactics
- Face her away from the party so Crystallize's 6-second cone stun does not catch everyone.
- Remove Mother's Milk fully rather than letting its repeated immobilizations continue.
- Have damage dealers switch to Spire Spiderlings when they appear.
Healer
Prepare to cover the tank while Crystallize prevents them from acting.
Damage
If you are poisoned and cannot get it removed immediately, keep away from allies.

Urok Doomhowl is a summoned ogre encounter in Hordemar City. His melee attacks and Rend are backed by Intimidating Roar, which can disable one player and send others fleeing.
Abilities
- Strike · Strikes at an enemy, inflicting increased melee damage.
- Intimidating Roar · Roars at an enemy, paralyzing it with terror for 8 sec. and causing all other nearby enemies to flee in fear.
- Rend · Inflicts Physical damage to an enemy every 3 sec. for 15 sec.
Tactics
- Clear the surrounding ogres and the bugs farther up the ramp before starting, leaving safe ground for feared players.
- In Classic, planting the head on the pike starts ogre waves before Urok arrives, and a player can reuse the pike about every 30 seconds to damage the minions or advance a lull.
- Keep control of surviving guards before committing damage to Urok.
- Use fear protection or a fear break for Intimidating Roar if your group has one.
Tank
Pick up each incoming wave before it reaches the healer.
Healer
Keep Rend victims stable before the roar can interrupt your healing.

Quartermaster Zigris is an orc gunfighter found up the ramp opposite the hall leading to Halycon. Nets, area stuns and a healing potion make this more awkward than a simple melee fight.
Abilities
- Drink Healing Potion · Uses a Holy elixir to heal the caster.
- Hooked Net · Immobilizes nearby enemies for 10 sec. and inflicts Physical damage.
- Shoot · Shoots at an enemy, inflicting Physical damage.
- Stun Bomb · Hurls a stun bomb, inflicting normal damage plus 25 to all enemies in a selected area and stunning them for 5 sec.
Tactics
- Clear the upper hallway and the two groups on the right side of his room before pulling him.
- Pull from the right side, then move behind the hallway wall to bring his gun attacks around the corner.
- Spread out so Stun Bomb does not disable several players for 5 seconds.
- Keep pressure on him when Drink Healing Potion restores his health.
Tank
Keep him in the cleared hallway rather than chasing him toward untouched enemies.
Healer
Hooked Net lasts 10 seconds, so be ready to heal rooted players who cannot reposition.

Halycon is the Bloodaxe Legion's breeding worg, guarded alongside her pups. Thrash adds sudden melee hits while Rend keeps damage ticking between them.
Abilities
Tactics
- Separate the pups from Halycon if possible, or use area damage to clear them once the pull is secure.
- Fight inside her lair and move shaman totems in from the hallway.
- Put casters and healers on the higher ground near the back to give them distance if she changes targets.
Tank
Keep a defensive cooldown ready for a Thrash burst.
Healer
Do not stop watching the tank after a melee spike, since Rend continues dealing damage.

Gizrul the Slavener arrives automatically after Halycon dies. His Enrage and Infected Bite increase tank pressure, while Fatal Bite drains health and heals him.
Abilities
- Enrage · Increases the caster's attack speed by 60% and the Physical damage it deals by 50 for 2 min.
- Infected Bite · Inflicts Nature damage to an enemy every 10 sec. and increases the Physical damage it takes for 3 min.
- Fatal Bite · Drains 2537 health from an enemy, healing the caster for up to twice that amount.
Tactics
- Stay ready for the follow-up fight instead of treating Halycon's death as a safe break.
- Use defensive cooldowns when Enrage overlaps with Infected Bite's increased Physical damage taken.
- Keep dealing damage after Fatal Bite restores his health rather than assuming the fight is nearly over.
Tank
Meet Gizrul as he arrives so the party does not take his opening attacks.
Healer
Maintain a healthy tank buffer for Fatal Bite and watch for Infected Bite's periodic Nature damage.

Overlord Wyrmthalak combines frontal melee attacks with a reinforcement phase. Positioning matters more than chasing damage during this final fight.
Abilities
- Sweeping Slam · Inflicts normal damage plus 1268 to enemies in a cone in front of the caster, knocking them back.
- Cleave · Inflicts weapon damage plus 15 to an enemy and its nearest allies, affecting up to 3 targets.
- Demoralizing Shout · Reduces the melee attack power of nearby enemies by 20 for 30 sec.
Tactics
- Tank with your back to the wall behind his starting position to limit Sweeping Slam's knockback.
- Keep melee damage dealers behind him and away from the tank to avoid Sweeping Slam and Cleave.
- In Classic, two reinforcements run up the ramp at roughly half health, so control them or have someone tank them before they reach the casters.
Tank
Keep the boss facing consistently while the group handles reinforcements.
Healer
Save some healing capacity for the point when additional enemies enter the fight.
Damage
Expect Demoralizing Shout to reduce melee attack power for 30 seconds.

- Strike · Strikes at an enemy, inflicting increased melee damage.
- Blast Wave · Unleashes a wave of flame, inflicting Fire damage to nearby enemies and reducing their movement speed for 6 sec.
- Burning Felguard Spawn
Tactics
- Keep ranged players away from the felguard so Thunderclap and Blast Wave do not hit the whole party.
- Choose your fighting position before the slows land rather than relying on a quick retreat.
Tank
Expect Strike to add heavier melee hits between the area attacks.
Healer
Be ready for several nearby players to need healing at once.
Damage
Melee should expect Thunderclap to slow their attacks as well as their movement.

Spirestone Battle Lord
Spirestone Battle Lord is a rare ogre found on the hill beside Highlord Omokk.

Abilities
- Enlarge · Increases the Physical damage dealt by an ally by 76 for 1 min.
- Polymorph · Transforms an enemy into a sheep, forcing it to wander around for up to 20 sec. While wandering, the sheep cannot attack or cast spells, but regenerates very quickly. - Arcane Bolt · Hurls a magical bolt at an enemy, inflicting Arcane damage.
- Bloodlust · Increases an ally's attack speed by 60% for 30 sec.
Tactics
- Prioritize stopping Polymorph so a party member is not left unable to act for up to 20 seconds.
- Avoid fighting him alongside other enemies that can benefit from Enlarge or Bloodlust.
- Use spare interrupts on Arcane Bolt when Polymorph is covered.
Tank
Use mitigation if a buffed enemy is already attacking you.
Healer
Call out immediately if you are sheeped so the group knows healing has stopped.

Before you go
Before you go
- Build a five-player groupBring a tank, healer and damage dealers for this five-player dungeon. Several encounters combine heavy melee hits with effects that briefly stop someone from acting.
- Set aside enough timeAllow about 75 to 105 minutes for a full clear. Agree on your stopping point before starting if anyone has limited time.
- Check your utilityKnow who can remove curses and poisons before the first pull. Put those tools somewhere easy to reach rather than sorting them out during a boss.
- Assign crowd controlChoose CC marks and agree who handles each one. Keep damage off marked targets so your group can separate dangerous enemies from a busy pull.
- Decide whether to visit Quartermaster Zigris before taking the Halycon route, since he is an optional detour.
- Treat rare bosses as extra encounters rather than a checklist that every run will complete.
- At ramps and junctions, wait until everyone can see the next pull location before moving ahead.
