Overview
Inside Scholomance
The Barov family wanted their wealth and power to outlast their mortal lives. Their bargain with Kel'Thuzad turned a grand estate into a training ground for the Cult of the Damned. Family servants became experimental subjects, and the burial halls became classrooms where plaguecraft, summoning, and the study of undeath took the place of ordinary lessons.
This is a late-level run with a broad mix of encounters rather than one repeated combat pattern. Physical bruisers test the tank, spellcasters punish slow reactions, and several enemies weaken the group's damage or healing. The school's residents include members of the Barov family themselves, alongside the teachers and monsters that now occupy their former home.
Getting there
Head to Caer Darrow in Western Plaguelands, in the Eastern Kingdoms. Scholomance lies beneath the ruined Barov estate.
Show on the mapLevel 58–60 is the range the dungeon is tuned for, not a minimum entry level. This is the Forever level range as it stands today. It can still shift before launch.

- Curse of Weakness · Reduces the Physical damage dealt by an enemy by 29 for 2 min. Only one curse per warlock can be active on any one target.
- Curse of Impotence · Decreases the Magical damage dealt by the target by 29 for 2 min.
Tactics
- Remove Paralyzing Poison promptly, since its stun lasts 8 seconds.
- Clear Curse of Weakness from physical attackers and Curse of Impotence from spell damage dealers.
Damage
Call out a stun if it prevents you from covering your assigned utility.

- Pierce Armor · Reduces an enemy's armor by 50% for 20 sec.
- Disarm · Disarms an enemy, forcing it to stop wielding its weapon for 10 sec.

- Kirtonos Transform
- Shadow Bolt Volley · Hurls missiles of dark magic, inflicting Shadow damage to nearby enemies.

- Keep the group out of his front to avoid Wing Flap and Swoop.
- Remove Curse of Tongues from the healer first so slower casts do not leave the tank exposed.
- Expect weapon users to lose damage during Disarm.
Tank
Use the top of the stairs and keep your knockback path away from the window.

Jandice's Curse of Blood increases Physical damage taken and can linger for 10 minutes.
Abilities
- Curse of Blood · Increases the Physical damage taken by nearby enemies by 48 for 10 min.
Tactics
- Remove Curse of Blood rather than carrying it into later physical-damage fights.
- In Classic, her illusion phase rewards finding the matching image instead of killing every clone, since wrong kills damage the party.
- Identify the matching image by its black hair, headband, shoulders, gloves, and belt.
Tank
When Jandice returns from the illusion phase, regain her attention before the group resumes full damage.
Damage
Avoid indiscriminate AoE during the illusion phase.

Tactics
- Keep ranged players away from the boss so War Stomp does not disable the whole group.
- Choose a tanking position with room to be knocked back without losing control of the fight.

- Cleave · Inflicts weapon damage plus 30 to an enemy and its nearest allies, affecting up to 3 targets.
- Shadow Bolt · Hurls a bolt of dark magic at an enemy, inflicting Shadow damage.
- Blood Leech · Drains 855 health from nearby enemies, healing the caster for up to three times the amount stolen.
- Summon Darkreaver's Fallen Charger
- Dominate Mind · Takes control of a humanoid enemy up to level 25 for 10 sec., but increases the time between its attacks by 100%.
Tactics
- In Classic, a paladin or shaman on the appropriate quest uses the Divination Scryer to start a spirit event that lasts about 15-20 minutes before Darkreaver appears.
- Keep allies away from the tank so Cleave does not catch additional targets.
- Limit the number of players near him during Blood Leech, which heals him from the health it steals.
Tank
Hold Darkreaver apart from the ranged group rather than dragging him through it.
Healer
Watch for direct Shadow Bolt damage as well as melee hits.

Tactics
- In Classic, the students begin neutral but join the fight if you attack either teacher before dealing with them.
- Use Dawn's Gambit to turn the students into weaker hostile skeletons, then clear them.
- Without the device, kill the tougher students in their normal form before starting the bosses.
Tank
Gather the transformed students before the group starts AoE.

Abilities

- Flamestrike · Calls down a pillar of flame, burning all enemies in a selected area and inflicting additional damage every 2 sec. for 8 sec.
Tactics
- Move out of Flamestrike immediately, since the selected area keeps dealing damage for 8 seconds.
- Keep ranged players back from Blast Wave, which damages nearby enemies and slows them for 6 seconds.
Tank
Reposition Vectus if Flamestrike leaves the melee group fighting in fire.

- Chill Nova · Blasts nearby enemies for Frost damage, knocking them back and reducing their movement speed for up to 10 sec.
- Frost Armor · Encases the caster in a layer of frost that lasts 30 min. The thick ice increases armor by 12, slows melee attackers' movement to 40%, and increases the time between their attacks by 100%.
- Chilled
- Freeze · Stuns an enemy and inflicts Frost damage every 3 sec. for 15 sec.
Tactics
- Leave a clear area around the fight so an 8-second Fear does not send someone into nearby enemies.
- Expect melee attacks against Frost Armor to slow both movement and attack speed.
- For the quest conversion, Classic's Soulbound Keepsake requires a 20-second channel within 15 yards and generates threat.
Tank
Allow room for Knock Away and Chill Nova without pushing the fight toward uncleared areas.
Healer
Watch a player caught in Freeze, which stuns and deals repeated Frost damage for 15 seconds.
Damage
Do not depend on moving quickly after Frostbolt Volley, which damages nearby players and slows them for 8 seconds.

Tank
Avoid unnecessary repositioning while Slow is affecting your movement and attacks.
Healer
Account for Corruption's repeated Shadow damage over its 24-second duration.
Damage
Rotate kicks rather than spending every interrupt on the same heal.

Abilities

Tank
Secure both guardians as the fight begins.
Healer
Watch Immolate targets for continuing Fire damage after the initial hit.

Before you go
Before you go
- Sort your quest logPick up Kirtonos the Herald, Doctor Theolen Krastinov, the Butcher, Krastinov's Bag of Horrors, and The Lich, Ras Frostwhisper before setting out. Tell the group which objectives you need before anyone starts a boss.
- Assign cleansing jobsMake sure the group knows who handles curses and poisons. Assign a backup where possible so a disabled healer does not leave every debuff unanswered.
- Start bosses with manaGive the healer time to drink between encounters. Several fights combine sustained damage with stuns or other control effects, leaving little room to recover from an empty mana bar.
- Allow about 75-105 minutes for a full clear.
- Plagued Hatchlings and Healthy Dragon Scale are level-58 quests, so check them before starting your first run.
- Barov Family Fortune has separate Alliance and Horde versions.
- The Dominate Mind effects on Kirtonos, Darkreaver, and Illucia only target humanoids up to level 25, so they do not threaten a level-58-60 group.
