Overview
Inside Razorfen Downs
The Downs are the quilboars' ancestral burial grounds, enclosed by enormous brambles and threaded with thorn-choked crypts. Built from the same mighty vines as Razorfen Kraul, this sprawling settlement also served as their traditional capital. The Death's Head tribe and its high priests made their home among these sacred barrows.
Scourge necromancers have turned those burial grounds against their defenders, raising the dead and building an undead stronghold under Amnennar the Coldbringer. The quilboars' struggle reaches beyond their home, with the Barrens threatened by his growing control. Budget about 35-50 minutes for a full clear, with an overall difficulty around 5/10.
Getting there
Head to the Barrens in Kalimdor for Razorfen Downs. Both Alliance and Horde can run the dungeon.
Show on the mapLevel 37–46 is the range the dungeon is tuned for, not a minimum entry level. This is the Forever level range as it stands today. It can still shift before launch.

Tuten'kash is a crypt fiend in the Caller's Chamber. His curse slows both casting and attacks for 15 minutes.
Abilities
- Curse of Tuten'kash · Reduces the casting speed of nearby enemies by 15%, and increases the time between their attacks by 18%. Lasts 15 min.
Tactics
- In Classic, clearing the room and ringing the left-side gong starts three stages: 8 Tomb Fiends, 4 elite Tomb Reavers, then Tuten'kash, with each wave needing to die before the next ring.
- Treat the curse as a sustained throughput problem, not a brief debuff you can simply wait out.
Tank
Establish threat on the summoned wave before damage dealers commit.
Healer
Start heals earlier while cursed, since your casts take longer.
Damage
Let the group recover between completed gong waves instead of immediately starting the next one.

Embersilk Stave · Held In Off-hand · 5.6%

Mordresh Fire Eye is a skeleton caster who was an orc shaman in life. His fight combines targeted Fireballs with Fire Nova damage around him.
Abilities
Tank
Settle Mordresh in one position so ranged players can maintain their distance.
Healer
Keep enough healing capacity free for the melee group when Fire Nova lands.
Damage
Use interrupts on Fireball to reduce incoming damage.
Notable loot
Deathmage Sash · Waist · 31.9%

Glutton is an abomination whose Disease Cloud makes close-range fighting expensive. In Classic, he patrols the lower tier of the Spiral of Thorns and repeatedly enrages, hitting harder when he gets hungry.
Abilities
- Disease Cloud · A cloud of noxious gas inflicts 3001 Nature damage every 3 sec to players within 5 yards.
- Enrage
Tactics
- Wait for a clear gap in his patrol before pulling him away from nearby enemies.
- Disease Cloud deals 3,001 Nature damage every 3 seconds within 5 yards, so keep ranged players outside that radius.
- Melee should step out when their health is falling faster than the healer can recover it.
Tank
Save defensive cooldowns for Enrage rather than spending them all on the pull.
Healer
Bring close-range players near full health before the next cloud tick.
Damage
Avoid stacking offensive cooldowns with a moment when you need to retreat from the cloud.

Plaguemaw the Rotting is an undead quilboar. In Classic, he is summoned at the end of Belnistrasz's escort.
Abilities
- Withered Touch · Diseases an enemy, inflicting 2 Shadow damage every 10 sec. and draining 2 mana every 10 sec., transferring it to the caster. Lasts 3 min.
- Putrid Stench · Reduces nearby enemies' Strength by 50 and Agility by 50 for 10 sec., as well as preventing them from casting spells.
Tactics
- Keep spellcasters away from Plaguemaw because Putrid Stench prevents nearby enemies from casting.
- Withered Touch lasts 3 minutes, dealing Shadow damage and draining mana every 10 seconds.
- Putrid Stench also reduces Strength and Agility by 50 for 10 seconds, weakening nearby physical attackers.
Tank
Keep Plaguemaw from drifting toward the healer's position.
Healer
If Putrid Stench catches you, move away before trying to resume casting.
Damage
Delay physical burst until the Strength and Agility reduction wears off.

Amnennar the Coldbringer is the lich atop the Spiral of Thorns, seated near a brazier of cold flames. His Frost spells restrict movement, while Amnennar's Wrath knocks an enemy back.
Abilities
- Chilled
- Summon Frost Spectres
- Amnennar's Wrath · Knocks an enemy back.
- Frostbolt · Inflicts Frost damage to an enemy and reduces its movement speed for 4 sec.
- Frost Nova · Inflicts Frost damage to nearby enemies, immobilizing them for up to 8 sec.
Tactics
- Choose a position with solid ground behind you before committing to the fight.
- Keep ranged players outside Frost Nova's nearby area, which deals Frost damage and can root targets for up to 8 seconds.
- Watch for Summon Frost Spectres and leave room to respond when additional enemies appear.
Tank
Pick up Frost Spectres before they settle on the healer.

Maintain line of sight to rooted players rather than expecting them to move toward you.

Rare spawns1

Ragglesnout is a rare elite quilboar with healing and Shadow spells. Stopping his recovery is the main priority.
Abilities
- Dominate Mind · Takes control of a humanoid enemy up to level 25 for 10 sec., but increases the time between its attacks by 100%.
- Shadow Word: Pain · Utters a word of darkness, inflicting Shadow damage to an enemy every 3 sec. for 18 sec.
- Heal · Calls upon Holy magic to heal an ally.
- Shadow Bolt · Hurls a bolt of dark magic at an enemy, inflicting Shadow damage.
Tactics
- Reserve an interrupt for Heal rather than spending every kick on damage spells.
- Shadow Word: Pain ticks every 3 seconds for 18 seconds, so account for damage that continues between casts.
- Dominate Mind only targets humanoids up to level 25, below this dungeon's intended level range.
Tank
Keep Ragglesnout within reach of the players assigned to interrupt him.
Healer
Remove Shadow Word: Pain when possible to cut its sustained damage.
Damage
Use spare interrupts on Shadow Bolt once Heal is covered.
