Overview

Inside Sunken Temple

Exiled Atal'ai trolls raised the temple to bring the blood god Hakkar into Azeroth. Ysera tried to stop their work by sinking the structure beneath the swamp and leaving green dragons to guard it. Instead of ending the rituals, that isolation let the trolls continue their work away from interference.

The danger now comes from both the temple's occupants and its wardens. Corruption has taken hold of the trolls and the dragons sent to contain them. The run moves between ritual chambers, a lower pit and balconies overlooking the Pit of Sacrifice, with troll encounters giving way to fights against green drakes and a ghostly dragon.

Getting there

Head to the Pool of Tears in the Swamp of Sorrows, in the Eastern Kingdoms. Sunken Temple lies beneath the pool.

Level 50–60 is the range the dungeon is tuned for, not a minimum entry level. This is the Forever level range as it stands today. It can still shift before launch.

Atal'alarion

BossLevel 50

2 abilities2 loot items

Atal'alarion is a dire troll guarding the idol on the temple's lowest level. His main threats are a frontal knockback and a nearby stun.

Abilities

  • Ground Tremor · Stuns nearby enemies, rendering them unable to move or attack for 2 sec.
  • Sweeping Slam · Inflicts normal damage plus 1268 to enemies in a cone in front of the caster, knocking them back.

Tactics

  • In Classic, activating the snake statues in the correct order summons him, and pulling him near the stairs can separate him from adds.
  • Keep everyone except the tank out of Sweeping Slam's frontal cone.

Tank

Choose a position where Sweeping Slam's knockback will not send you toward another pack.

Healer

Stay outside melee range to reduce the risk of losing casts to Ground Tremor's 2-second stun.

Boss

Tank

Be ready to pick up the Avatar as the summon becomes active.

Jammal'an the Prophet

4 abilities1 loot item

Jammal'an is the Atal'ai spiritual leader, fought alongside Ogom the Wretched. Roots, ground fire and healing casts make this more than a straight damage race.

Abilities

  • Earthgrab Totem · Summons an Earthgrab Totem that lasts 30 sec. and periodically immobilizes nearby enemies.
  • Flamestrike · Calls down a pillar of flame, burning all enemies in a selected area and inflicting additional damage every 2 sec. for 8 sec.
  • Hex of Jammal'an
  • Healing Wave · Calls upon Nature magic to heal an ally.

Tactics

  • Clear the trolls from his room before engaging the pair.
  • Interrupt Healing Wave so he cannot undo your damage.
  • Destroy Earthgrab Totem before its repeated roots leave players trapped in Flamestrike.
  • In Classic, Hex of Jammal'an can turn its victim into a hostile berserker when the initial debuff expires, while an affected healer can heal the enemies.

Tank

Move Jammal'an away from active Flamestrike patches so melee can keep attacking safely.

Healer

Leave Flamestrike immediately, since the selected area continues dealing damage for 8 seconds.

Damage

Focus Ogom first while keeping an interrupt ready for Jammal'an.
